About This Event

The Pulp Fiction Pokémon TCG League Cup returns to Lee's Summit on Saturday, July 18, 2026 for a sanctioned Play! Pokémon midsummer Saturday tournament at one of the most active Pokémon TCG community hubs in the entire Kansas City metro. Hosted in the dedicated gaming space at Pulp Fiction Comics & Games at 836 SW Blue Parkway, this monthly Saturday League Cup consistently pulls Kansas City-metro competitive Pokémon players driving in from Lee's Summit, Blue Springs, Independence, Raytown, Grandview, Belton, downtown Kansas City MO, Liberty, Gladstone, and across the state line from Overland Park, Olathe, Lenexa, and Shawnee. As a sanctioned League Cup, this event awards Championship Points toward the 2026-2027 Play! Pokémon season — a critical building block for any Kansas City-area player chasing a Pokémon Worlds invite.

League Cup events are a step up from local League Challenges and offer significantly more Championship Points (up to 50 CP for top finishers) and Play! Pokémon prize support that includes exclusive playmats, sleeves, and booster packs for top placements. The format is Standard for the 2026-2027 Pokémon TCG season — confirm the legal expansion list against the most recent Play! Pokémon Standard rotation published at pokemon.com before deck building. Both the Pokémon TCG live tabletop and the Pokémon Trading Card Game Live digital format may be supported depending on registration count; tabletop is the default for League Cup sanctioning. Pulp Fiction also stocks deep Pokémon singles and sealed inventory on-site — vintage WOTC Base, Jungle, Fossil, Team Rocket, Neo, e-Card, and EX-era boxes, plus modern Scarlet & Violet, Paldea Evolved, Obsidian Flames, Paradox Rift, Twilight Masquerade, Surging Sparks, Prismatic Evolutions, and Journey Together — so players who finish early or get knocked out can shop for singles and supplies and round out their next deck before heading home.

Doors open at 9:00 AM CDT for registration and check-in, with the first round starting at 10:00 AM CDT. Expect six to eight Swiss rounds depending on attendance, followed by a single-elimination top-cut bracket. The full event typically wraps between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM CDT depending on round count. Entry is typically $20 to $25, payable in cash or card at the counter, and includes a sanctioned booster pack and entry into Play! Pokémon prize support. Spectators are welcome and there is no spectator admission fee. Pulp Fiction's open gaming space also runs casual Pokémon TCG league, Magic: The Gathering Commander, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece TCG, Disney Lorcana, and Dragon Ball Z Fusion World play throughout the day, so non-tournament family and friends have plenty to do on-site.

Pulp Fiction Comics & Games is at 836 SW Blue Parkway, Lee's Summit, MO 64063, just off US-50 and Highway 291 with quick access from Interstate 470 and Interstate 70. Climate-controlled, ADA-accessible, and laid out with dedicated tournament tables, casual play space, and a full retail floor with comics, cards, board games, miniatures, and supplies. Free parking is plentiful in the on-site Lee's Summit lot.

This event fits competitive Pokémon TCG players first and foremost — players already familiar with the Play! Pokémon Championship Series ecosystem who are chasing Championship Points. New and casual players are welcome and the Pulp Fiction staff and league community are consistently rated among the most welcoming Pokémon TCG environments in the Kansas City metro. For the best experience, register early (online or by phone) to lock your seat, bring a sleeved 60-card Standard-legal deck plus a deck list, your Play! Pokémon ID, and a positive attitude. Confirm the sanctioned date and entry fee with Pulp Fiction directly at (816) 246-1212 or via the events page at pfcomics.com.
