Oxford Comics & Games has been a Buckhead institution since Mike Houten started working there at the age of 13 and grew it into Atlanta’s oldest and largest comic shop. Located on Piedmont Road just minutes from Lenox Square and the Lindbergh MARTA station, the store carries a giant selection of comic books, graphic novels, manga, board games, trading cards, posters, imported anime, and collectibles. The space is bigger than it looks from outside — rows of meticulously organized shelves hold everything from mainstream superhero titles to rare indie publications, Silver Age back issues, and ratio variant covers. Oxford also runs a subscription service that ships comics to your door bi-weekly or monthly, with no prepayment required. Named Atlanta’s Best Comic Shop multiple times by Creative Loafing, this is a true neighborhood institution where decades of deep knowledge meet modern hobby culture.
