Veteran Columbia card and anime shop in Columbia Place, established 1987. TCG tournaments, sports cards, Gundam model kits, anime merchandise, Pokémon sealed product, and comic books.
The Fine Art of Baseball has been a Columbia institution since 1987, originally making the rounds at sports card shows before settling into a permanent home at Columbia Place (the former Columbia Mall). Despite the baseball-centric name, the shop has evolved into a diverse collectibles destination with a heavy anime and TCG focus. The tournament scene is active with regularly scheduled events for Magic: The Gathering, Cardfight Vanguard, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Battle Spirits, Digimon, Dragon Ball Z, and One Piece TCG. Pokémon collectors will find sealed hobby product, prerelease kits, and boosters. The anime side of the store is impressive: full-art tee shirts, hoodies, wall scrolls featuring major anime series, Naruto cosplay outfits, and Luffy’s iconic Straw Hat. Gundam model kits, Anime Funko Pops, and Marvel/DC figures round out the selection. The owner, Robert, is a knowledgeable and genuinely fun presence — regulars say they keep coming back as much for the conversation as for the product. Hours are a bit non-standard (closed Mondays and Thursdays, open every-other Tuesday), so check ahead, but when the doors are open this shop delivers a unique experience you won’t find elsewhere in the Midlands.
