Nashville's biggest and best comic book store since 2000 — the largest selection of new comics and trades in Middle Tennessee. Two locations (Nashville & Clarksville) with Funko Pops, back issues, and Shopify store.
Rick's Comic City has been Nashville's definitive comic book destination since opening in 2000 in a tiny 250-square-foot shop. Now occupying a 2,200-square-foot store in the Donelson Plaza, the shop stocks what is widely regarded as the largest selection of new comic books and trade paperbacks in Middle Tennessee. Every Wednesday brings fresh shipments from Marvel, DC, Image, Dark Horse, Boom!, IDW, Dynamite, and more — and the slogan "We Have Issues!" is no joke.
Beyond new releases, the shop maintains several long boxes of back stock spanning the last decade-plus, with Silver Age and Golden Age books appearing regularly (though they don't stay long). Over 1,000 trades, hardcovers, and graphic novels fill the bookshelves, and a curated selection of Funko Pops, action figures, statues, bags, boards, and collecting supplies rounds out the inventory. The Shopify-powered online store carries exclusive variants and collectibles, and an eBay storefront extends their reach nationally.
Rick's is a pure comic book shop — they deliberately leave gaming cards and RPGs to their neighbors at The Game Cave, also in Donelson Plaza. This focus means deeper inventory and more knowledgeable staff in the comics space. Free Comic Book Day is a major annual event, and the store has earned recognition as Nashville's top comic shop. A second location in Clarksville expands their Middle Tennessee footprint.
