About This Event

Some card shows exist to make money and some exist to raise it. The Annual Adat Chaverim Labor Day Weekend Sports Card Fundraising Show, held Sunday, September 6 and Monday, September 7, 2026 in Plano, is firmly in the second category — now in its twelfth year, it is run by the congregation's Brotherhood as a community fundraiser, and it has quietly become one of the most pleasant sports-card rooms in North Texas.

This one is unapologetically old-school. Where most DFW shows now split their floor between Pokemon and sports, Adat Chaverim stays focused on sports cards: baseball, football, basketball and hockey singles from the 1950s through the current season, complete and partial sets, star and rookie cards, graded slabs, unopened wax, team lots and the sort of well-organized commons boxes that set builders dream about. Memorabilia, autographed material and vintage publications turn up as well. The dealer roster is roughly twenty tables, which sounds modest until you realize it is twenty tables of people who have been doing this for decades and who price to sell because the proceeds support the fundraiser.

Hours are Sunday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Monday 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Sunday is the main event and carries the fullest dealer turnout; the Labor Day Monday session is shorter, calmer and the best window for unhurried conversation with dealers about what they have in the back of the case.

Admission is free, with donations to the Brotherhood's fundraising effort encouraged rather than required. There is no ticketing and no VIP tier — this is a walk-in, all-are-welcome room. Children are genuinely welcome and the vendors here are patient with young collectors, which is not universally true at bigger shows.

The venue is Adat Chaverim at 6000 Custer Road, Building 9, in Plano. Parking on site is free and plentiful. From Arlington the drive runs about 45 to 55 minutes via Highway 360 and the President George Bush Turnpike, which makes this a deliberate trip rather than a casual stop — but collectors who chase vintage baseball regularly report it is worth the mileage. Legacy Drive and Parker Road offer plenty of options if you want lunch between sessions.

Who should attend? Vintage sports collectors first and foremost. Set builders who need a room where commons boxes are actually organized by year and sport. Anyone who wants to introduce a child to sports cards in a low-key setting rather than a convention hall. And collectors with material to sell, since the dealers here buy and the fundraiser context keeps negotiations civil.

A few practical notes. Arrive close to Sunday's 10:00 AM open, because at a twenty-table show the good vintage moves within the first ninety minutes. Bring cash — this is a cash-friendly room and it speeds everything up. Bring a want list, because the strength of the show is depth in specific years and sets rather than breadth. Make a donation on your way in; that is the entire point of the weekend.

Hours and venue details are confirmed through the Card Show Dex listing. VERIFY: dealer count and Monday hours can shift year to year, so check the listing before making the drive.
