Transparency about our process is part of earning your trust. Here is exactly how listings on The Card Shop Finder are built and maintained.
We find card and hobby shops from publicly available sources — business listings, shop websites and social media, mapping services, and reader submissions. Being listed is free; a shop never has to pay, advertise, or claim its page to be included.
We cross-check details against multiple public sources rather than trusting a single one, and use mapping imagery to confirm a shop's location and storefront.
Shops change — new hours, a move, a closure. We review and refresh listings over time, and treat corrections from owners and collectors as a core part of the process.
We order shops to be genuinely useful, weighing relevance, proximity, listing completeness, and aggregate rating.
For every shop we aim to record and verify:
Ratings reflect aggregate customer review data from public sources. We do not write, solicit, or sell reviews, and paying for a listing does not change a shop's rating.
The Card Shop Finder is funded by optional paid listing plans. Shop owners can subscribe to a Basic or Premium plan to manage their own listing, add photos, post events, and (on Premium) receive featured placement.
To be completely clear, paying for a plan does not:
Featured placement on Premium is always the result of a shop choosing to upgrade — it never alters the underlying research or affects any other shop. Our editorial coverage and the core directory are maintained independently of who does or doesn't pay.
See something wrong? Report an incorrect detail, a closed shop, or a shop we're missing through our contact page. Corrections are a priority for us.
