The Card Shop Finder ("we," "us") operates this website. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it — and we aim to collect as little as possible.
Information you provide
- Contact form: your name, email, optional phone number, and message, so we can respond.
- Email signups: your email address, if you subscribe to updates.
- Shop owner accounts: if you claim a listing, your name and email, and a securely hashed password. We never store passwords in plain text.
- Listing claims: the contact details you submit when claiming or correcting a shop.
Information collected automatically
- Approximate location: we derive a general location (state/city) from your IP address to show nearby shops. This is not precise geolocation.
- Anonymous engagement data: when someone taps a shop's phone, website, or directions link, we log the action to measure interest. IP addresses used for this are one-way hashed with a rotating daily salt — they are not stored in a way that identifies you.
- Standard server logs and essential cookies needed to run the site (for example, keeping you logged in).
- Local storage in your browser for conveniences like "recently viewed" shops. This stays on your device.
How we use information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the directory.
- To respond to your messages and listing claims.
- To send emails you've asked to receive (you can unsubscribe anytime).
- To process payments for optional paid listing plans.
Service providers
We rely on a few trusted third parties to run the site. They process data only as needed to provide their service:
- Mailgun — transactional email delivery (e.g. contact replies, owner invites).
- Klaviyo — email newsletter management, if you subscribe.
- Stripe — payment processing for paid plans. Card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store them.
- Google — storefront imagery (Street View) and web fonts.
- Our hosting provider — to serve the website.
What we don't do
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run cross-site advertising trackers.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from emails using the link in any message.
- Request access to, or deletion of, the personal information we hold about you by contacting us.
- Control cookies and local storage through your browser settings.
Children
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; we'll revise the "last updated" date above when we do.
