🃏 About This Event

The Fire Ant Sports & TCG Card Show returns to The Hobbyist Colony Card Shop in Edmond on Saturday and Sunday, August 29–30, 2026, closing out the summer with the OKC metro's most reliably fun shop-hosted weekend. Fire Ant has built a real following in north Oklahoma City and Edmond by running frequent, tightly-organized shows rather than one big annual event — the result is a rotating cast of dealers, fresh inventory almost every month, and a regular crowd that treats it as much like a hobby meetup as a marketplace.

This is the mixed format, meaning both sports cards and trading card games share the floor. Sports tables carry MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, UFC, boxing and soccer inventory across every era: vintage Topps, Bowman, Fleer and Donruss from the 1950s through the 1980s, 1990s junk-wax boxes priced for digging, and a strong modern selection built on Panini Prizm, Donruss Optic, Select, Mosaic, Topps Chrome and Bowman Draft, with premium National Treasures, Flawless and Immaculate hits in locked cases. Late August means football is the hot category, so expect NFL and college football — Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma State Cowboys especially — to dominate the front tables, alongside Thunder, Rangers and Chiefs inventory. TCG tables run deep on Pokémon singles and sealed from vintage Wizards of the Coast through modern Scarlet & Violet and Japanese imports, plus Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece Card Game, Disney Lorcana and Dragon Ball Z Fusion World. Graded PSA, BGS, SGC and CGC slabs, autographed memorabilia, comics, Funko Pops and supplies round things out.

Doors typically open at 10:00 AM CDT both days, with Saturday running until roughly 5:00 PM and Sunday until roughly 4:00 PM. Admission at Fire Ant shows is low or free depending on the edition — the operator often waives it entirely to drive foot traffic into the host shop — and children are always admitted free with an adult. Confirm the current door price on the event listing before you go, since it varies show to show.

The Hobbyist Colony Card Shop is located in Edmond, just north of Oklahoma City and a straightforward drive up I-35 or Broadway Extension from the metro core. Parking is free in the shop's lot and surrounding retail spaces. Being shop-hosted, the footprint is compact — you can cover every table thoroughly in a couple of hours — and the shop's own inventory, singles cases and sealed wall are open for business alongside the visiting dealers, which effectively adds a permanent extra vendor to the show.

The crowd skews toward local collectors, TCG players, families and flippers hunting undervalued raw cards. It is an excellent first show for anyone new to the hobby: the scale is manageable, the vibe is welcoming, and shop staff are happy to explain grading, pricing and what is worth chasing. Serious high-end buyers will find real material in the cases but should treat this as a hunting trip rather than a guaranteed grail run.

For the best experience, get there right at open on Saturday, bring cash alongside Venmo and Zelle, and carry a want list. Pack penny sleeves and top loaders for raw pickups and a hard case for slabs. Save Sunday afternoon for negotiating. Follow Fire Ant and The Hobbyist Colony on social media for vendor lists and confirmed details.
