About This Event

PKMN Collective Trade Night returns on Saturday, August 1, 2026, for its first-Saturday gathering of Oahu's Pokemon community — and if you collect Pokemon cards anywhere on the island, this is the monthly event built specifically for you. Run by PKMN Collective, the group behind the popular Bayview Night Market, this trade night is Pokemon-first in a way most general card shows are not, which changes the entire character of the room.

Because everyone in attendance speaks the same collecting language, the trading runs deeper than at mixed shows. Expect binders loaded with modern chase cards from the latest Scarlet & Violet-era sets, alt arts and special illustration rares, Japanese exclusives and promos, vintage WOTC holos, graded slabs across PSA, BGS, and CGC, and plenty of bulk for newer collectors building their first sets. Trainer gallery cards, error cards, and oddball promos surface regularly too. Some attendees also bring sealed product to trade or sell, and crossover collectors occasionally carry One Piece, Lorcana, or sports binders as sweeteners for bigger Pokemon deals.

PKMN Collective rotates venues around Oahu from month to month, so check the group's Instagram in the days before August 1 for the confirmed location and hours; hawaiicardshows.com also lists the details once announced. Trade nights typically run through the afternoon or early evening, and entry is free or minimal depending on the venue. The rotating format is part of the fun — one month you are trading at a golf course, the next at a shop or community space on a different side of the island.

Who should attend? Pokemon collectors of every level, full stop. If you are a parent whose keiki just discovered the hobby, this is the friendliest possible introduction — kids trading commons and learning to negotiate is exactly what the event exists for. Intermediate collectors will find trade partners for set-completion hunting. Advanced collectors chasing high-end slabs and Japanese exclusives will find the island's most serious Pokemon specialists in one room, and competitive players often show up to trade playables and talk decks as well.

A few tips to maximize the night: organize your binder before you arrive, with your best trade bait up front. Know your values — pull up recent sold prices rather than sticker prices when negotiating. Bring a want list, penny sleeves, and top loaders, because well-protected cards trade at a premium and nobody wants to hand a raw holo to a stranger. Cash helps balance uneven trades. Most importantly, be patient and friendly: the Oahu Pokemon community is tight-knit, and the traders who show up month after month get the best deals because they have built trust.

For confirmed venue, time, and updates, follow PKMN Collective on Instagram or check hawaiicardshows.com. The event repeats every first Saturday, so if August 1 slips by, September's edition is already on the calendar — but with the Aloha Card Show at Windward Mall wrapping up that same weekend, the first days of August are shaping up to be the busiest stretch of the summer for Oahu collectors.
