Magic: The Gathering's next big tabletop release is The Hobbit, arriving August 14 — and after its debut at MagicCon Amsterdam, the daily preview machine is now running through the end of July. With the full schedule published by Wizards of the Coast, we finally have a clear picture of what the set looks like and which cards are shaping up as the early chases.
The Cards Everyone Is Talking About
- Smaug the Magnificent — a Treasure-fueled Dragon that already looks like the set's signature card. Smaug hoarding Treasures is exactly the kind of flavor-meets-function design that made the Lord of the Rings set a monster seller.
