MTG Star Trek Reveals Are Confirmed for July: What We Know About the November 13 Set

Magic's lead designer confirms Star Trek set reveals are coming this month ahead of the November 13 launch timed to the franchise's 60th anniversary. Here is everything known so far, plus the rest of Magic's loaded July calendar.

The Final Frontier Finally Gets a Reveal Date

Magic: The Gathering's most anticipated crossover of 2026 is about to break its silence. Star Trek set reveals are confirmed for this month, with Principal Designer Gavin Verhey, who revealed in an interview that he was the set's lead designer, promising that real information is coming before July ends. Until now, the set has existed publicly as little more than a launch date and a few pieces of artwork.

What We Know So Far

The set launches November 13, 2026, timed against the 60th anniversary of the Star Trek franchise, and is expected to draw characters and stories from across the entire franchise rather than a single series. Mechanically, the set is expected to build on the spacefaring toolkit Wizards established in Edge of Eternities, giving the design team a ready-made vocabulary for starships and space exploration. A leak has already surfaced a Captain Kirk card, hinting that the classic crew will anchor the set's face cards.

Why the Hobby Is Watching Closely

2026 has been the year of the crossover for Magic: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Marvel Super Heroes both launched in the first half, and The Hobbit arrives August 14. Marvel Super Heroes in particular showed how hard a beloved IP can hit the collector market, with chase cards commanding serious premiums from day one. Star Trek brings a fanbase that has been collecting memorabilia for six decades, and the overlap between Trek fans and TCG collectors is significant.

The Rest of Magic's July

  • MagicCon Amsterdam Festival in a Box hits direct-to-consumer preorder July 13, continuing the Festival in a Box line for collectors who cannot attend in person.
  • The Marvel Super Heroes Arena Direct runs July 17-26 with sealed play and physical booster boxes on the line for top finishers.
  • Secret Lair x Global Fund for Women arrives July 20, celebrating the women of Magic with proceeds supporting the charity.

Crossover sets are no longer side products. In 2026 they are the tentpoles, and Star Trek is the biggest one left on the calendar.

For collectors, the July reveal window is the moment to start forming a real preorder strategy. Once the card gallery starts filling in, the chase hierarchy, and the prices, will take shape fast.
