The National Is One Week Away: Your Final Planning Guide to the 46th NSCC in Rosemont

The 46th National Sports Collectors Convention runs July 29 to August 2 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center: 500,000 square feet, 600-plus booths, and the entire hobby in one building. Here is how to plan your week, work the floor, and not blow your budget.

One Week Until the Biggest Card Show on Earth

The 46th National Sports Collectors Convention opens next Wednesday, July 29, and runs through Sunday, August 2 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. If you are going β€” or still deciding β€” this is your final-week planning guide.

The Scale This Year

The 2026 National spans more than 500,000 square feet with over 600 booths, making it the largest edition of the show yet. Everything from pre-war vintage to this week's Topps Chrome Baseball will be on the floor, alongside the corporate pavilions from Topps, Panini, Upper Deck, PSA, CGC, SGC, and the major auction houses.

Tickets and Logistics

  • Admission: online general admission is now $30 β€” the advance-price window ended June 30, and online pricing now matches the gate
  • Venue: Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont β€” minutes from O'Hare, with hotel blocks mostly sold out, so book anything you can find now
  • Autograph pavilion: the Tri-Star guest lineup mixes Hall of Famers with current stars; buy autograph tickets in advance for the biggest names, because they routinely sell out before the weekend

How to Work the Floor

Veterans will tell you the same three things every year. First, Wednesday and Thursday are for buying β€” dealers price strongest early, but the best inventory is intact. Second, Sunday is for deals, when dealers would rather sell than pack. Third, bring a want list and a budget, because a 600-booth floor will happily separate you from an unplanned thousand dollars.

What the Market Is Watching

Expect grading-service promotions all week β€” PSA, CGC, and TAG all use The National to court submitters, and with PSA working down its backlog, show-special turnaround offers are likely. The auction houses will also be previewing their late-summer catalogs, and the biggest hobby news of the year has a habit of dropping from the main stage in Rosemont.

The National is the one week a year when the entire hobby is in one building. Even if you only go for a day, go.
