RIP X Is Turning an Entire Minor League Stadium Into a Card Show This Weekend
The RIP X Card Show is taking over Durham Bulls Athletic Park on September 26 and 27 with more than 300 vendor tables, live pack openings, and stadium-wide giveaways.
A Stadium-Sized Card Show
Most card shows take over a convention center ballroom or a hotel conference floor. The RIP X Card Show is taking over an entire minor league baseball stadium. On September 26 and 27, Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, North Carolina is hosting more than 300 vendor tables spread across the stadium concourse, turning a full weekend of Bulls baseball infrastructure into hobby floor space.
What Is Actually There
The show's lineup spans the categories collectors care about most right now: sports cards, Pokemon, One Piece, general collectibles, toys, and what organizers are calling rare finds. Beyond the tables, the event includes:
- Live vintage pack openings and rare booster giveaways
- Custom trading card creation for attendees
- Ballpark photo opportunities
- Special guest appearances and surprise product drops throughout the weekend
- Stadium concessions and a dedicated 21+ bar area
Why Stadium Takeovers Are Catching On
Card shows have been getting bigger and more spectacle-driven all year, and pairing a show with a sports venue is a natural next step: it gives organizers far more square footage than a typical hotel ballroom, and it lets a local team's venue draw in fans who might not have gone looking for a card show on their own.
If You Are Going
With 300-plus tables, plan to spend a full day if you want to see everything. Bring cash for smaller vendors, a want list for anything specific you are hunting, and a bag or binder to protect anything you pick up on the way back to your car.
