Graded Charizards to budget commons, Sumo Stars fills half a Fullerton storefront with Pokemon and One Piece singles, slabs, and Japanese promo packs.
First-time visitors expecting a small booth of Pokemon cards get a surprise: half the building is singles and sealed product. Sumo Stars Collectibles operates inside the shared collectibles space at 805 S Harbor Blvd south of downtown Fullerton, and owners Kevin and Daniel have turned their corner of it into one of north Orange County's most focused Pokemon and One Piece destinations.
The display cases tell the range of the inventory. A shadowless Charizard has shared glass with Eeveelution singles and Brilliant Stars booster boxes; high-end graded slabs sit above budget-friendly modern singles so kids and investment collectors shop the same counter. Japanese product is a genuine specialty — exclusive promo packs land here that most Fullerton card shop competitors never stock — and the One Piece TCG selection spans singles, slabs, and sealed booster boxes. Signed Funko Pops and Sonny Angels fill out the non-card shelves.
What reviewers keep highlighting is the hunt-it-down service: Kevin and Daniel take requests and track specific cards for customers, and their buy prices draw sellers from around the county. The pair also runs live Whatnot auctions under the sumostars handle, so inventory turns over quickly — if something in the case catches your eye, waiting a week is a gamble.
The shop keeps afternoon hours on weekdays (1PM to 7PM, closed Tuesdays) and stretches longer on weekends, 11AM to 8PM Saturdays and noon to 6PM Sundays. Street parking on Harbor is straightforward, and the multi-vendor building means one stop covers Pokemon cards in Fullerton plus a whole floor of adjacent collectibles.
