Greatest American Sportscard Shows returns to Overland Park on Saturday, August 29, 2026 with a free-admission, one-day show at American Legion Post 370. G.A.S. is the most prolific promoter in the Kansas City market, and the Overland Park room is their neighborhood show — smaller and friendlier than the big John Knox Village weekends, but with more than fifty tables packed into a single hall and a reputation for aggressive pricing.
The dealer mix is deliberately broad. Sports tables carry MLB and NFL modern rookies, Chiefs and Royals autographs, NBA prizm and optic product, plus a rotating supply of UFC, boxing and soccer inventory that has grown noticeably over the past two seasons. Vintage sellers set up along the walls with 1970s and 1980s wax, star cards, and complete sets. Trading card game vendors handle Pokemon sealed and singles, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece and Dragon Ball Z, and there is usually at least one table dedicated to Funko Pops, bobbleheads and signed memorabilia.
Hours are Saturday only, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. That nine-hour window is unusually long for a one-day local show, and it changes how the room behaves: the morning is a scrum of dealers and early buyers, the middle of the day is comfortable browsing, and the last two hours are where the real negotiating happens as vendors decide what they would rather not pack up.
Admission is free for everyone — no tickets, no wristbands, no VIP tier, and no charge for children. Just walk in. That free-entry policy is a deliberate part of the G.A.S. model and it keeps foot traffic high all day.
American Legion Post 370 is located at 7500 W 75th Street in Overland Park, a short hop off Metcalf Avenue. Parking is free in the Post lot and on adjacent streets, and the hall is single-level with easy access. Downtown Overland Park and the 75th Street corridor put dozens of restaurants within a five-minute drive if you want to break mid-afternoon.
This is a strong show for first-timers precisely because it costs nothing to walk in and the scale is not intimidating. It also rewards serious collectors: the Overland Park room draws Johnson County collectors who bring quality consignment, and dealers who work the Kansas side regularly say the best singles surface here rather than at the larger weekend events.
Come with cash — free-admission shows run on it, and most vendors will shave ten to twenty percent off a marked price for a cash bundle. Bring a want list organized by sport and set, and bring a box or tote for what you buy. Walk the full room before committing to anything expensive.
