About This Event

The Hobby Circuit's TCG Only card show lands at the Clovis Veterans Memorial Center on Sunday, October 4, and it is the mirror image of the same promoter's sports-only show a month earlier. Every table on this floor is trading card games. No sports cards competing for space, no memorabilia, no comics — just Pokemon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh! and the rest of the modern TCG landscape.

For TCG collectors in the Central Valley that focus is the whole point. Pokemon takes the largest share of the floor: sealed English product from current and recent sets, Japanese boxes and singles, vintage WOTC-era cards from Base Set through Neo, graded slabs across PSA, CGC and BGS, and bulk singles boxes for deck builders and set completists. Magic: The Gathering vendors bring Commander staples, Modern and Legacy pieces, reserved-list singles, sealed product and draft boxes. Yu-Gi-Oh! dealers stock tournament staples and vintage. One Piece, Disney Lorcana, Dragon Ball Super, Digimon, Flesh and Blood and Star Wars Unlimited each get real representation rather than a courtesy binder. Supply vendors carry sleeves, deck boxes, binders, top loaders and playmats.

Hours are 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Five hours on a Sunday is a comfortable window — long enough to work every table twice, short enough that the floor stays busy throughout rather than emptying mid-afternoon. Sunday shows in Clovis draw a mix of families and players, and the atmosphere tends to be social rather than transactional.

Admission pricing for the TCG show had not been posted at the time of listing. The Hobby Circuit's sports show at the same venue runs 5 dollars presale and 10 dollars at the door with kids 17 and under free alongside a paying adult, and a similar structure is the reasonable expectation here. Check The Hobby Circuit's Facebook page for the presale link — buying ahead has consistently saved money at their events.

The Clovis Veterans Memorial Center is at 808 4th Street in old town Clovis, with free parking in the center lots and on surrounding streets. The hall is indoors and air-conditioned, with wide aisles and good lighting for inspecting card condition. Restrooms are on site and food is typically available. Old town Clovis surrounds the venue, so restaurants and coffee are a short walk away — convenient if you are bringing family who would rather browse the historic district than the tables.

Who should come? Pokemon collectors first and foremost — a TCG-only floor in a market this size is rare and worth clearing a Sunday for. Competitive players will find deck staples at regional rather than convention pricing. Set builders and vintage Pokemon hunters should arrive at open. Investors will find graded inventory in the cases. Families do well here: the crowd skews younger and friendlier than a sports-card floor, and kids trading with kids is a normal sight.

Tips: bring cash, bring a binder of trade material, and bring sleeves for anything raw you buy. Check condition carefully under the hall lights, especially on vintage Pokemon where edge wear and centering drive value hard. Compare pricing across at least three tables before committing on a big single. And if you are deck building, make your list before you arrive — it is far too easy to spend a budget on shiny cards you do not need.
