About This Event

Sportspalooza at Witchduck lands at Witchduck Bingo Hall in Virginia Beach on Saturday, September 5, 2026, and it is squarely aimed at the sports card collector. Where a lot of Hampton Roads shows have drifted toward a mixed Pokemon-and-comics floor, Sportspalooza keeps the focus tight: cardboard, slabs, memorabilia, and the people who love them. The bingo hall at 660 North Witchduck Road is an ideal room for it, with long open tables, good overhead lighting for reading centering and edges, and enough aisle space that you are not squeezing past shoulders all afternoon.

The floor covers the full sports spectrum. MLB is deep here, from junk-wax-era team sets you can buy by the box up to vintage Topps and Bowman rookies in cases. NFL runs strong in early September because football season is starting and everyone is chasing rookie autos. NBA, NHL, UFC, boxing and soccer all have dedicated vendors. Vintage is a real presence rather than an afterthought, so if you collect pre-1980 cardboard, bring a loupe. Graded slabs from PSA, SGC, BGS and CGC fill several tables, and a handful of dealers specialize in low-pop and high-grade population report material. Memorabilia rounds it out: signed balls, jerseys, helmets, ticket stubs and photo authentication.

Doors open at 10:00 AM and the show runs to 4:00 PM, a single Saturday session with no early-bird tier. Admission is free and parking is free in the surrounding lot, which is generous by Virginia Beach standards. There is no online ticketing to worry about. Children get in free and are welcome; several vendors keep a dime box or a dollar box specifically so kids can walk out with a stack of their own.

Witchduck Bingo Hall sits in a convenient central Virginia Beach location, minutes from Interstate 264 and an easy drive from Norfolk, Chesapeake and the Oceanfront. There is plenty to eat within a mile if you want to break for lunch and come back.

Who should attend: serious sports collectors who want a room where everybody speaks the same language, dealers looking to buy fresh material from walk-in sellers, casual fans who want to build a set without paying online premiums, and parents introducing a kid to the hobby on a budget. If your interest is exclusively Pokemon or Magic, this is not the show for you; several other Hampton Roads events serve that better.

Tips: get there at 10:00 sharp if you want first crack at freshly unpacked vintage, because the best raw material is picked over within ninety minutes. Bring cash in small bills, which almost always improves a negotiated price. Carry a written want list and a small penlight for checking surfaces. If you are selling, bring your cards organized and priced, and know your comps before you walk in. And take a lap around the whole room before you buy anything, because the same card frequently sits on two tables at very different prices.

Check the show listing or the promoter's social pages in the days before September 5 for vendor announcements and any guest signings.
