About This Event

The TCG Circuit brings its Halloween-themed Spooky Sacramento Card Show to Country Club Lanes on Saturday, October 3, and it is easily the most unusual venue on the region's card calendar — a genuine bowling alley and entertainment complex rather than a hall or ballroom. The Circuit leans into it. Expect costumes, themed giveaways, a soundtrack, and a room that feels more like a hobby night out than a transaction floor. Entry is free, which is the other reason this show fills up.

As the promoter's name suggests, trading card games lead. Pokemon anchors the room with sealed English product, Japanese imports, graded slabs and deep singles binders that cover both collector chase cards and competitive staples. One Piece has grown into a major presence at Circuit shows, with booster boxes, leader cards and parallels. Magic: The Gathering vendors bring Commander staples and reprint sets; Yu-Gi-Oh!, Disney Lorcana and Dragon Ball Z each get dedicated tables. Sports cards are present without dominating — a run of tables with modern basketball and football wax, graded rookies, and a vintage case or two. Around the edges: anime figures, Funko Pops, custom art, sticker and slab-display vendors, and a supplies table.

Hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, October 3. Free entry is the headline, and it changes the traffic pattern: instead of the usual early spike and afternoon fade, this show stays busy right through mid-afternoon, with a strong family wave from noon onward. If you want to talk to vendors at length, come at open. If you want the full Halloween atmosphere, come after one.

Admission is free. There is no VIP tier and no early-access ticket. Children are welcome and free. That said, bring cash — free-entry shows tend to have more small independent vendors, and small independent vendors are the most likely to be cash-only.

Country Club Lanes sits on Watt Avenue in Sacramento's Arden-Arcade area, centrally located for collectors coming from Carmichael, Citrus Heights, North Highlands and downtown alike. Parking is free and the lot is enormous. The complex has a full bar, a restaurant, arcade games and, obviously, bowling — which makes this the rare card show where the non-collecting members of your party have something to do while you shop.

Who should come? Families with kids, TCG players, and anyone who finds traditional card shows a bit grim. The costume element and the venue make it a legitimately fun outing. Serious sports card buyers should temper expectations — this is a TCG show first, and the sports inventory reflects that.

Tips: come in costume, since Circuit shows usually run a contest or giveaway tied to it. Bring cash in small bills. Bring a want list organized by set for Pokemon and One Piece. Bring sleeves. Check the binders rather than just the cases — at TCG-led shows the interesting singles are rarely under glass. Arrive at ten if you are chasing competitive staples, because playables sell first and fastest.

Future Circuit dates are listed on CardShows.io under The TCG Circuit.
