VIP Sports Card Show North opens its 2027 season at Park Terrace on 2577 W Greenway Road on Sunday, January 24, 2027. January shows have a character all their own. Collectors arrive with holiday gift cards and Christmas money to spend, dealers have restocked after a heavy December, and the northwest Valley snowbird population is at its annual peak, which means walk-in collections and fresh inventory in roughly equal measure. If you want a show where something genuinely new is on the tables, this is it.
The floor is sports cards throughout. Baseball tables carry vintage Topps and Bowman, 1950s and 1960s stars, deep 1970s and 1980s material for set builders, team and player lots, and modern MLB rookies with numbered parallels and on-card autographs, with spring training just weeks away and Cactus League interest starting to build. Football remains hot in late January heading into the championship stretch, so expect NFL rookie patch autographs, Prizm, Optic and Select parallels and vintage stars. Basketball is at midseason strength, and hockey, UFC, boxing and soccer each hold real table space. Graded slabs from PSA, SGC and BGS sit in locked cases, sealed wax is available from several dealers, and dollar and quarter boxes sit under most tables for bargain digging. Pokemon singles and sealed product cover the trading card game crossover, alongside memorabilia, signed baseballs and photos, vintage programs and ticket stubs, comics and collectible figures.
Hours are 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, a single Sunday window. Admission is free, confirmed by the organizer, with no early-buyer tier, no advance tickets and nothing to reserve. Children are welcome accompanied by an adult. Free entry is central to how this series works and a large part of why attendance builds steadily through the morning rather than collapsing after the first hour.
Park Terrace sits at 2577 W Greenway Road in north Phoenix, just west of Interstate 17 and easy to reach from the Loop 101 as well. Parking is free on site. The room is air-conditioned with level access throughout, an underrated detail given how many of the regulars here are longtime collectors who appreciate not navigating stairs with a rolling case. The single-room layout means you can cover the entire show thoroughly in about an hour and use your remaining time for a considered second pass.
This show is a good fit for set builders, vintage hunters, Cactus League fans building spring training want lists, and collectors who prefer a room where real conversation is possible. It is also among the easiest first shows in the Valley: free, compact, and staffed by dealers who are used to explaining grading, population reports and raw-versus-slabbed pricing patiently. Serious buyers should not skip January, since holiday-season collections often reach the market for the first time right about now.
Tips: arrive near the 9:00 AM open, because the sharpest material at a five-hour show moves in the first ninety minutes. Bring cash for the best pricing. Keep a want list with ceiling prices so you can act decisively, and carry penny sleeves and top loaders for raw pickups.
