Box formats for Topps Holiday
Mega Box
The 2025 Holiday Mega Box released October 23, 2025 at a $29.99 Walmart price with 10 packs, one guaranteed autograph, relic, autograph relic or base chrome card, and one oversized die-cut ornament card. Earlier editions (2020-2023) carried a $39.99 price and 10 packs with one relic or autograph guaranteed, and the 2024 box moved to the lower price point. The mega box is exclusive to Walmart and topps.com, which is why it sells out within weeks and why sealed boxes trade above retail almost immediately. As of August 2026 the 2025 mega runs $30-$45, the 2024 mega $35-$55 and the 2023 mega $35-$55. A retail case is 20 mega boxes and is how distributors and breakers buy it.
Hobby Tin
Topps added Holiday Hobby Tins in recent years as a 59-card tin at $44.99 MSRP with exclusive tin parallels and a shot at the same hits. Tins are sold direct and through some hobby distributors, and they trade at $40-$60 sealed for 2025.
Advent Calendar
The Holiday Advent Calendar is a 20-pack box of 5-card packs behind numbered doors at $49.99 MSRP, with specialty inserts and a small number of exclusive parallels. It is a gift product more than a collector product and trades near MSRP sealed; the 2024 and 2025 calendars run $45-$65.

Holiday boxes track the rookie class of the flagship year they mirror, so 2022 and 2024 are the boxes to hold, and the Metallic Snowflake and Gold Snowflake parallels of those rookies are what people chase. The 2020 box has a scarcity premium because Walmart allocations that year were thin and collectors were buying anything sealed; that premium has held longer than expected. The 2025 box is the first with chrome parallels and Refractors, which broadened the chase enough that early-season pricing stayed above the $29.99 shelf price through spring 2026.
Chase cards, parallels and hit rates
The base cards are flagship photos with added snowflakes. The parallel ladder runs Metallic Snowflake (one per pack in recent years), Blue Metallic, Gold Metallic numbered to 75 or so, Red Metallic numbered low, plus themed variants such as Glitter Holiday, Holiday Plaid and Holiday Lights in 2025 and a Black 1/1. Short prints and super short prints show players in Santa hats, ugly sweaters or with holiday props and are the most collected cards in the set. Every mega box has one die-cut ornament and one hit slot; the hit is most often a relic (Holiday Relics with a snowflake swatch design, Bicentennial-style patch cards in some years) with autographs falling in a minority of boxes. Starting in 2025 the guaranteed slot can also be a base chrome card, which lowers the effective relic rate and is worth knowing before you pay a premium. Hit odds are not published per parallel; treat autographs as a several-boxes-per-case pull.
Is Topps Holiday worth buying sealed?
At the $30-$40 Walmart price a mega box is a fair rip: a stack of flagship rookies, a numbered snowflake or two, an ornament and a relic. Above $50 the math stops working unless you are targeting a specific rookie year, because the relics are low-value and the autograph checklist is thin. As a hold the product has two things going for it: the Walmart exclusivity keeps total supply modest, and the snowflake parallels of star rookies (2018 Ohtani and Acuna, 2019 Guerrero and Tatis, 2022 Rodriguez and Witt) have proven demand. The 2018 and 2019 megas trade at several times their original price. Buy current-year boxes at retail if you can get them, hold the strong rookie years and skip the tins and advent calendars as investments.
How to spot fakes and resealed boxes
Walmart-exclusive mega boxes are the most searched product in the aisle. The relic packs are noticeably thicker, so searchers open the outer wrap, pull the hit pack and re-wrap or re-tape the box. Check that the factory wrap is tight with a single machine-sealed bottom seam, that the box corners are not crushed from being opened and re-folded, and that the ornament card is still inside (it sits in a separate slot and is often missing from searched boxes). Boxes sold loose without wrap are opened. On eBay, sellers offering "hit pack included" with a searched box are being honest but the box is not sealed. Topps direct orders ship in the same wrap, so a Topps packing slip is not proof of anything once the box changes hands.

Walmart is the only physical retailer for the mega box, and stock moves within days of the late-October drop, so check stores early and often.
