Sports wax, graded slabs and dollar boxes fill this Beaumont card shop on North Major Drive, where owner Vance Foster also keeps Pokemon singles in stock.

Vance Foster opened this shop in 2021 and moved it to 1271 N Major Dr, a short hop off Phelan Boulevard on the west side of town. The layout is built for hunting rather than browsing: dollar boxes and repack bins near the front, wax and current-year sports product behind the counter, and a run of showcases holding the graded slabs. Football, baseball and basketball carry the floor, with hockey and racing turning up in the bargain boxes.

Sports is the anchor, but it is not the whole store. Pokemon sealed product and singles have grown into a real section, and it is one of the few places to buy Pokemon cards Beaumont collectors can reach without driving toward Houston. Memorabilia — jerseys, signed pieces, team gear — fills the wall space between the card cases.

Plan around the schedule before you drive over. The shop is dark on Mondays and Sundays and runs 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, which makes a weekday lunch break or a Saturday morning the easiest windows. There is a lot out front, so parking is never the problem.

Foster buys as readily as he sells, and regulars lean on him for grading advice — what is worth submitting, what is better off raw, and how to prep a card so it survives the trip. That is the reason a lot of first-time visitors come back: the answer you get is usually the honest one rather than the flattering one. Reviewers repeatedly single out the range, from a dollar box that lets a kid start a collection to slabs aimed at serious buyers, and the fact that the shelves rarely look picked over.

A Facebook group carries the rest of the operation, where members follow restock posts, break announcements and new case openings between visits. For a mid-size market, this Beaumont card shop punches well above its footprint, and it is the first stop most local sports collectors name when asked where to go.
