Lorcana's Next Set Is Hyperia City, and Coco Is Finally in the Game

Disney Lorcana's fall set prereleases October 16 and hits shelves October 23. Hyperia City is named for the studio where Mickey Mouse was created, it is built around music and creativity, and it brings Pixar's Coco into Lorcana for the first time.

Ravensburger has locked in the next Disney Lorcana set. It is called Hyperia City, it prereleases October 16 with a general release on October 23, and it brings glimmers from Pixar's Coco into the game.

The name is the story

Hyperia City takes its name from the Hyperion Studio, which housed Walt Disney Studios from 1926 to 1940 and is where Mickey Mouse was created. Ravensburger describes the setting as a bustling place bursting with creativity and music.

That framing tells you roughly what to expect on the checklist. A set built around a studio lot and organized around music is a set that can justify pulling from an enormous slice of the Disney catalog - the musicals, the animation-history deep cuts, and the character designs that live in the studio's own mythology rather than in any single film.

Coco is the headline

Coco glimmers are the addition most Lorcana players have been asking for since the game launched, and a music-themed set is the obvious home for them. Pixar properties have historically been among the strongest-performing cards in Lorcana on the secondary market, and Coco has the advantage of being both beloved and visually distinctive in a game where card art drives a meaningful share of demand.

Dates to put on the calendar

  • Prerelease: October 16, 2026
  • General release: October 23, 2026
  • Illumineer's Quest: The Great Hunny Rescue: October, 59.99 dollars

The Illumineer's Quest line is Lorcana's cooperative product - a boxed, campaign-style experience rather than a competitive booster product. The Great Hunny Rescue continues that line at the same price point the previous entries held.

How to get prerelease product

Lorcana prereleases run through local game stores, and they are the single best value in the release cycle. You typically pay a set price, get a sealed kit with boosters and a foil promo, and play a casual event with other people opening the set for the first time. The promo card alone frequently covers a meaningful chunk of the entry fee.

Prerelease kits are allocated to stores, and stores allocate them to whoever signs up first. For a set with a new Pixar property in it, that list fills fast.

Practical version: call or check the events page for your local game store now, roughly six weeks out. Most stores open Lorcana prerelease signups four to six weeks before the date, and the ones that run multiple flights fill the Saturday slots before they fill anything else.

The serialized-card context

Hyperia City arrives after Ravensburger's announcement that Lorcana is adding serialized cards - 23 copies each, six per set, distributed through Collector Boosters that will now accompany every release. Hyperia City is one of the first sets where collectors will be shopping with that structure fully in mind.

What that means for how you buy: Collector Boosters become the speculative product and regular boosters stay the play product. If you are building decks, nothing changes. If you are chasing the serialized hits, understand that six cards at 23 copies each across an entire set print run is a lottery with a very small prize pool, and price your expectations accordingly.

Where this leaves Lorcana in the fall

October is crowded. Magic's Reality Fracture releases October 2, Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey lands October 7, and Yu-Gi-Oh's Beyond the Brave arrives October 9 - all before Hyperia City's prerelease weekend. Lorcana has carved out a reliable audience that does not fully overlap with any of those, but shelf space and collector budgets in the middle of October will be tight.

If you only preorder one thing in October and you play Lorcana, the prerelease kit is the better use of the money than a sealed booster box. You get product, a promo, and an event, and the boxes will still be there in November.
