The National 2026 Is Almost Here: Dates, Location, and Why You Should Lock In Tickets Before June 30

The biggest card show on earth returns to Rosemont July 29 through August 2. Advance tickets are 25 dollars only through June 30 before the price climbs. Here is everything a first-timer or a veteran needs to plan the trip.

If you only attend one card show all year, make it this one. The National Sports Collectors Convention, universally known in the hobby as simply "The National," returns to the Chicago area this summer, and it is the largest gathering of collectors, dealers, and card companies anywhere in the world.

Dates and Location

The 46th annual National runs July 29 through August 2, 2026 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois, just outside Chicago. The event spreads across five days and more than 600,000 square feet of trading cards, autographs, memorabilia, and corporate booths.

Lock In Advance Pricing Before It Jumps

There is a real reason to plan ahead. Advance general-admission tickets are priced at 25 dollars through June 30, 2026. Starting July 1, online general admission rises to 30 dollars. It is a small difference per ticket, but for families or multi-day attendees, buying before the end of June adds up.

What Makes The National Different

This is not a weekend table show. The National is where the entire industry converges at once.

  • Corporate row: Topps, Panini, the major grading companies, and auction houses set up full booths, often with show-exclusive cards and wrapper redemption programs.
  • Dealer breadth: Hundreds of dealers mean vintage, modern, sports, and TCG inventory you simply will not find under one roof anywhere else.
  • On-site grading and autographs: Grading drop-off and a deep lineup of in-person signings are show staples.
  • Deal-making: The aisles are where prices get discovered and major sales happen face to face.

How to Prepare

Veterans will tell you the keys are comfortable shoes, a clear want list, and a budget you decide on before you walk in. Bring penny sleeves and toploaders for anything you buy, set a meeting point if you come with a group, and map the floor early because five days is not as much time as it sounds once you are wandering 600,000 square feet of tables.

Whether you are a vintage hunter, a prospector, or a TCG player, The National is the one weekend a year the whole hobby is in the same building. Grab the advance ticket while it is still 25 dollars.
