Neymar Jr. Just Went Exclusive With Topps. Every Other Certified Neymar Auto Is Now a Closed Set.
Topps announced a multi-year exclusive deal with Neymar Jr. covering trading cards, stickers, autographs and match-worn memorabilia. His first cards under the deal come in Topps Dynasty and Definitive UEFA Club Competitions. Here is what it means for his card market.
Neymar Is Now a Topps-Only Signer
On September 23, Topps announced a multi-year extension with Neymar Jr. that makes Topps his exclusive partner for trading cards, stickers and trading card games. The deal took effect immediately. Along with his name, image and likeness, it gives Topps exclusive access to his autographs and his match-worn and player-worn memorabilia.
The first products carrying Neymar under the new deal are 2025-26 Topps Dynasty UEFA Club Competitions and 2025-26 Topps Definitive Collection UEFA Club Competitions, both high-end sets built around on-card autographs and patches.
What Exclusivity Means for Collectors
New Autographs Come From One Place
Going forward, new certified Neymar autographs and memorabilia cards will come only from Topps. That turns every existing certified Neymar autograph from other manufacturers into a closed population. No new copies of those designs will be made. Historically, when a star goes exclusive, older certified autos from rival brands hold their appeal because the supply is fixed.
Expect Premium Pricing on Early Topps Autos
Dynasty and Definitive are expensive, low-pack products. The first Topps Neymar autos and patch autos from those sets will likely be the most talked-about hits in them, and early sales tend to run high before supply settles.
Rookie Cards Are Unaffected
This deal does not change Neymar's rookie cards or any card already printed. His early cards remain the foundation of his market.
The Bigger Picture: Topps Is Locking Up Soccer
Neymar is one piece of a much larger push. Fanatics Collectibles, which owns Topps, has in the last year announced deals with the Premier League and FIFA, renewed with UEFA, and signed agreements with national federations around the world. The FIFA deal is a long-term exclusive collectibles agreement covering trading cards, stickers and trading card games that begins in full in 2031.
Fanatics Collectibles President of Trading Cards David Leiner said Topps has made "incredible inroads" into football over the last year. For collectors, that means the soccer card market is steadily consolidating around a single manufacturer, much like the NBA, NFL and MLB already have.
