This Week in Releases August 10-16: Bowman Chrome Pre-Orders, a Four-Product Wednesday, and D23 Weekend
Monday brings Bowman Chrome and WWE Universe pre-orders plus the Hatsune Miku Secret Lair. Wednesday drops Prizm Baseball, Topps Pristine, Upper Deck AEW, and Star Wars Chrome Galaxy on the same day. Thursday adds Stadium Club UFC and MTG The Hobbit. Here is the full week.
The post-National reset is officially over. The week of August 10 through 16 stacks a major pre-order day on Monday and then drops product across five different categories in a 72-hour stretch. Here is the full calendar and where the money is likely to go.
Monday, August 10 — Pre-Order Day
2026 Bowman Chrome Baseball opens pre-orders at 12 p.m. Eastern on the Topps site. A 100-card base set plus a separate 100-card Chrome Prospects checklist, with Bowman GPK, Bowman Spotlights, and Crystallized returning and WBC Flag Variation and Across the Seams joining. Pricing and configuration were still unannounced as of this morning. Release is expected in early September.
2026 Topps Universe WWE pre-orders open at 2 p.m. Eastern. Year two of the celestial-themed wrestling brand, with a 300-card set, an updated segmented base design, new parallels, autographs, and event-used memorabilia including Title Marks.
2025-26 Wacky Packages All New Series also goes up for pre-order today, keeping Topps' non-sport calendar rolling after the Chrome Marvel and VeeFriends Sapphire drops earlier this summer.
Over on the Magic side, Secret Lair Commander Deck: Hatsune Miku opens at 9 a.m. Pacific at $149.99, with a 24-hour guaranteed-fulfillment window closing Tuesday morning.
Wednesday, August 12 — The Big Drop Day
Four significant products land on the same day:
- 2026 Panini Prizm Baseball — the flagship Prizm baseball release, with the Manga inserts returning for the first time since 2023
- 2026 Topps Pristine Baseball — the high-end, low-count-per-box side of the Topps baseball calendar
- 2026 Upper Deck AEW — wrestling's other major license, arriving the same week Topps opens WWE pre-orders
- 2026 Topps Star Wars Chrome Galaxy — the art-driven Chrome release with a Rogue One anniversary tribute
Two baseball products on the same day is a real budget question for anyone collecting the sport. Prizm and Pristine are aimed at very different buyers — Prizm at parallel and rookie chasers, Pristine at the small-box, high-hit crowd — but they are competing for the same Wednesday.
Thursday, August 14 — UFC and Middle-earth
2026 Topps Stadium Club UFC arrives with Beam Team, Fight Motion autographs, and two autographs per box.
The same day, Magic: The Gathering's The Hobbit hits general release following prerelease weekend on August 7. The full gallery is live, the Gleaming Gold Smaug at 500 copies worldwide is the headline chase, and the set enters Standard.
Friday Through Sunday — D23 Weekend
Disney Lorcana takes over D23 in Anaheim from August 14 to 16, including the "Quests Ahead" panel on Friday at the Backlot Stage where Ravensburger will preview 2027 sets, and the Challenge Championship Qualifier running Saturday and Sunday. The D23 Collection includes the first publicly released card from the upcoming Hyperia City expansion.
How to Play the Week
A few practical notes:
- Monday is a decision day, not a spending day. Bowman Chrome pre-orders do not ship for a month. Do not let two pre-orders and a Secret Lair eat the budget you needed for Wednesday.
- Wednesday is where the sealed product actually is. If you buy from a local shop, call ahead — four releases on one day means allocations get thin.
- Prerelease pricing on The Hobbit has already settled. A week of market data exists before general release, which is unusual and useful.
- Nothing here requires buying on day one. Every product on this calendar will be available in two weeks, most of it at a lower price.
