🃏 About This Event

The LA Card Expo brings its August Downtown edition to Magic Box on South Broadway on Saturday, August 22 and Sunday, August 23, 2026. Magic Box is a relatively young addition to the LA event-venue scene and a notably different vibe from the LA Card Expo's regular Warner Center Marriott home — a true Downtown industrial-loft setting, walking distance from Fashion District destinations, with a vendor floor that feels more like an art-and-collectibles fair than a traditional hotel-ballroom card show. This is the LA Card Expo edition for collectors who want to make a full Downtown LA weekend out of it.

On the floor, the LA Card Expo house mix carries over to the Magic Box edition. Sports tables cover MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, UFC, boxing, and soccer across vintage and modern, with rows of Topps Chrome, Bowman Chrome rookies and prospects, Panini Prizm, Donruss Optic, Select, Mosaic, vintage Topps, Bowman, and Fleer, and 1980s and 1990s wax. TCG coverage runs deep — Pokemon singles and sealed product across the Scarlet & Violet era, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Disney Lorcana, and Dragon Ball Z all get table space. Graded PSA, BGS, SGC, and CGC slabs fill locked cases at the higher-end tables, alongside sealed wax, memorabilia, autographs, comics, Funko Pops, and supplies like sleeves, top loaders, and binders.

Show hours typically run 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM on both Saturday and Sunday, with VIP early-access opening 30–60 minutes ahead of general admission. Admission policy and ticket tiers are posted on lacardexpo.com closer to show week — confirm pricing and any tier perks before you go. Kids are typically free with an accompanying adult, and the Magic Box layout is roomy enough to be comfortable even at peak Saturday traffic.

Magic Box sits at 1933 South Broadway, just south of Downtown LA proper, easily reachable from the 10 and 110 freeways and from the Metro A Line. Street parking and nearby paid lots are the easiest options on Saturday and Sunday — plan for the Downtown LA parking reality and consider a ride-share if you want to skip the search. Plenty of Downtown LA dining sits within a short drive, including Fashion District spots, Arts District restaurants, and DTLA classics, which makes it easy to stretch the show into a full weekend in the city.

Who should attend? The Magic Box edition is built for collectors who like the Downtown LA scene, social collectors who enjoy a non-traditional venue, families looking for a weekend Downtown outing with cards as the anchor, set builders, vintage diggers, modern flippers, slab hunters, prospect chasers, and Pokemon and TCG fans. The Downtown setting also tends to draw a younger, more design-aware crowd than a hotel-ballroom show, which is part of the charm.

To get the most out of the weekend, arrive close to the 9:30 AM open for first crack at fresh inventory, plan parking and ride-share ahead of time so you do not lose 30 minutes circling, and carry a sorted want list with target prices. Bring cash for the quickest transactions (Venmo and Zelle as backups), pack a slab case and extra top loaders for pickups, and bring a trade binder if you like to deal.
