The hotel ballroom setting means carpet underfoot, controlled lighting that is genuinely helpful when you are inspecting card surfaces, and on-site restrooms, coffee and food. For out-of-town collectors the hotel location is an obvious convenience, and the 494 strip has dozens of restaurants within a few minutes' drive.
This show is worth prioritizing if you are a serious buyer, a seller, or a collector chasing something specific that never turns up locally. The traveling dealer base means fresh material and a wider price range than the local circuit offers. Casual collectors and families will still find plenty, though the ticketed admission means the cost of entry is higher than at the free Twin Cities shows, so it makes sense to go with a plan.
Make the day count. Buy early-access if you are hunting a specific card, because the traveling dealers price to move and the good material goes fast. Bring cash for leverage, though every vendor here takes cards. Bring your want list and, for graded purchases, look up recent comparable sales before you arrive so you can evaluate case pricing in real time. Inspect raw cards under the ballroom lighting rather than accepting a photo. If you are selling, sort and organize first and know your walkaway number before you approach a buyer.
