The Phoenix VIP Sports Card Show returns to the VFW hall at 804 E Purdue Ave on Saturday, November 7, 2026. November is arguably the best month of the year to work a Phoenix hall show. The weather is perfect, the NFL season is deep enough that football values have settled into something readable, basketball is underway, and the holiday selling season means dealers arrive with restocked inventory and a real motivation to move it.
Sports cards define this room. Baseball remains the deepest single category, with vintage Topps and Bowman, mid-century stars, extensive 1970s and 1980s material for set builders, team and player lots, and modern MLB rookies carrying numbered parallels and on-card autographs. Football tables are the busiest in November, offering rookie patch autographs, Prizm, Optic and Select parallels and vintage stars from the 1960s and 1970s. Basketball is active with the NBA season underway, and hockey, UFC, boxing and soccer each maintain a real presence. Graded slabs from PSA, SGC and BGS sit in locked cases across the hall, sealed wax boxes are available from several dealers, and nearly every table keeps dollar, quarter and dime boxes underneath for bargain digging. Pokemon singles and sealed product are the main trading card game crossover, alongside memorabilia, signed baseballs and photos, vintage programs and ticket stubs, comics and collectible figures.
Hours run 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The morning-only format has been this show's signature for years and it works: five hours is enough to cover a compact hall twice, and you are out before lunch with your Saturday intact. Admission at VFW-hosted editions has historically been free or a small door donation benefiting the post, with no advance ticket required. Bring a few dollars for the door in case there is a charge, and children accompanied by an adult are always welcome.
The VFW Phoenix hall is just off 7th Street near Dunlap Avenue in the Sunnyslope neighborhood of north Phoenix, reachable from Interstate 17 or State Route 51 in minutes. Parking is free in the on-site surface lot with street parking nearby for overflow. The hall is a single air-conditioned room, compact and well lit, and that compactness is a feature rather than a limitation: you can price-check the same card at three tables inside of five minutes, which is exactly how you avoid overpaying.
This show is a good fit for casual collectors, set builders, families and anyone who finds convention halls overwhelming. Serious buyers should still make the trip, because small hall shows are where underpriced raw vintage and mispriced modern parallels most reliably surface, and monthly rotation keeps inventory genuinely fresh. Sellers do well here too, since several dealers actively buy collections on the spot.
Tips for the morning: be at the door at 8:00 AM sharp, since the best material changes hands in the first hour. Bring cash for the deepest discounts. Carry a written want list with your ceiling prices so you can move table to table without second-guessing. Bring sleeves and top loaders for raw pickups, and a bright light if you inspect vintage centering and corners. If you are selling, present cards in binders or top loaders and be ready to name a number.
