December 12, 2026 closes out the year for the Sports Cards of Houston I-10 Westside Show, and the final date on the calendar is traditionally one of the busiest. Collectors arrive with holiday shopping lists, dealers bring gift-friendly inventory, and the room has a distinctly different energy from the quieter months. The setup is the same reliable format this series has run for years: a single ballroom at the Holiday Inn Westway Park Hotel, straightforward rows of dealer tables, free admission, free parking, and one Saturday to work the floor. Sports is the focus throughout. Baseball, football, basketball, and hockey are all represented across vintage and modern, with star singles, commons boxes sorted for set builders, team and player lots, graded slabs in display cases, sealed wax, and a reliably deep supply of Astros, Texans, Rockets, and Colt .45s material. A handful of tables also carry non-sport, Pokemon, and other trading card game inventory.
Hours are 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Admission is free for all attendees with no advance ticket required, and parking in the hotel lot is free. Register at the entrance to join the show's mailing list and enter the free prize drawing, a long-running feature of the series that costs nothing but a minute of your time.
The venue is at 4606 Westway Park Blvd, inside Beltway 8 off the Katy Freeway, convenient for Katy, Cypress, Jersey Village, Memorial, Spring Branch, and the Energy Corridor. The ballroom is climate controlled and well lit, which is not a small consideration when you are evaluating centering and surface on vintage cards for several hours.
December is the month where this show is most useful to gift buyers. Mid-grade vintage stars, complete or near-complete sets, graded rookies in the accessible price tiers, and sealed product all show up in better supply than usual, and dealers are generally motivated to move inventory before year end. It is also a good month to sell — dealers restocking for the holiday crowd tend to buy more aggressively in early December than they do in July.
Come prepared. Cash in small bills moves deals faster than a card reader at a busy table. A want list organized by set and card number saves real time in a commons box. Penny sleeves, top loaders, and a small box protect what you buy on the walk to the car. If you are bringing cards to sell, sort them first and know your number before you sit down.
On timing: the first ninety minutes after the 9:00 AM open is when the strongest material changes hands, and the last hour before 4:00 PM is when dealers get flexible on bulk and bargain boxes rather than repack them.
