Vintage sports cards meet vinyl at this Savannah shop, where graded rookies, Pokemon packs, and old-school memorabilia share the Abercorn St shelves.
Throwback GOATs started life in Miami, where its owners ran Gables Records N Comics out of a shared love of music, comics, and memorabilia. That crate-digging DNA came north with them, and their Abercorn Street storefront now gives Savannah something it did not really have: a true sports card shop where the record bins are as tempting as the display cases.
The card side runs deep across eras. Vintage sports cards sit alongside modern rookies and high-end graded slabs, spanning baseball, football, basketball, and beyond, and the owners are constantly hunting new old treasures to restock the cases. TCG collectors are not left out either. Pokemon packs and Magic: The Gathering product share space with the sports inventory, making this one of the few spots in town serving slab hunters and booster crackers under the same roof.
Visits reward browsing time. Between flipping through vinyl and CDs, digging the comic and memorabilia oddities, and working through the singles cases, a quick stop stretches easily into an hour. Reviewers consistently call out the selection of vinyl and sports trading cards and describe the owner as genuinely friendly and happy to talk cards, whether you are chasing a childhood set or pricing an investment-grade rookie.
Doors are open 11AM to 6PM Monday through Saturday and noon to 4PM on Sundays, an easy midtown stop on the Abercorn corridor south of downtown. For collectors mapping out Savannah card shop stops, this is the sports-card anchor of the list, and the place to go when you want a T206-era conversation and a Pokemon fix in the same visit.
