Game King

Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon singles plus Tuesday Commander nights make this Fall River game store a go-to for players who want cards and a table to use them.

Game King is the kind of store where the card counter and the gaming tables share the same big room. Reviewers describe a huge inventory and plenty of places to sit down and play. It's a classic hobby shop with no boutique polish. One regular called the setting "somewhat chaotic," so expect stacked shelves rather than glass display cases.

For card players, the draw is breadth. Game King carries Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokemon alongside miniatures, dice, tabletop RPGs, board games and comics. Store descriptions single out its selection of singles and used items, and they note staff who help customers track down specific pieces. If you're hunting Pokemon cards Fall River shops actually keep on hand, or a single to finish a deck, it's worth checking here.

Organized play is where the shop stands out. One reviewer goes to Commander night every Tuesday and says the crowd includes friendly players of all skill levels. Game King is also listed as a Riftbound organized-play store and appears on a Digimon TCG store map. That makes it one of the few places in the city where several card games have a regular home.

Timing matters here because hours are short on weekdays. The doors open at 4PM Monday through Friday and close at 8PM, so a weekday visit is an after-work or after-school trip. Saturday and Sunday run from noon to 8PM, which gives you the longest window to browse singles and sit in on a game. Because hours have varied between listings in the past, check the shop's Facebook page before making a special trip.

You'll find the store at 120 South Main Street in downtown Fall River. Call 508-676-9900 to ask about stock or the week's event lineup. For a Fall River card shop that pairs a big product wall with real table space, Game King is the obvious first stop.
