About The Shop

Open since 1992 on South Campbell, with 100,000-plus organized singles, dime and quarter boxes, live team box breaks and a full licensed fan-gear wall.

Thirty-plus years on South Campbell Avenue buys a particular kind of inventory depth. Fastbreak Sports opened in 1992 and the owner, a former coach, has been collecting since 1969 — which is why the star, dime and quarter boxes immediately left of the entrance run more than 100,000 organized single-player cards deep. Digging those boxes is the main event here, and reviewers routinely describe losing hours to them.

The layout splits cleanly. Cards and sealed hobby product from Topps, Panini, Leaf and Upper Deck occupy the left side along with rookie cards, autographed items and a Star Wars and non-sport memorabilia case. The right side is a full licensed retail operation: NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL and NCAA apparel and home décor arranged in team-by-team booths along the walls. Pokemon sealed is stocked too — one 2026 reviewer pulled a gold Mega Zygarde EX from a booster box bought here.

Box breaks are a signature service. Fastbreak runs live team breaks at $20 per team across MLB, NFL and NBA products plus a high-end bonus break, with spots reserved by phone at 417-886-2273. Topps Hobby Rip Nights, anniversary events and monthly Trade Days round out the calendar, and there is seating in the store for ripping packs on the spot. The shop's YouTube channel posts unboxings between events. One caveat worth checking before you drive out: the store's own site currently notes that Trade Day with box breaks is suspended until further notice.

Buy, sell and trade all run across the counter. A recurring note in reviews is that offers on graded cards can come in conservative, so collectors selling slabs may want a second quote; offers on raw singles and bulk get better marks. Staff member Keelan is named repeatedly in positive reviews.

Hours are the most accessible of any Springfield card shop: 9AM to 7PM every day Monday through Saturday, plus 11AM to 5PM Sunday. That early weekday open makes it the one place in town you can hit before work. The store sits just south of the Burger King at Campbell and Battlefield, with a Google 360-degree interior panorama linked from the shop's site if you want to scout the floor before visiting.

I came here last weekend and yesterday and yesterday I bought a booster box for the new set of Pokemon. I ended up pulling the best card in the set the gold Mega Zygarde EX.

I took my 9 yr old Twins to their first card shop Saturday, well we ended up going to 3 in town. They loved Fastbreak so much we came back the next day and spent hours opening packs and looking.

Nice selection, but I wouldn't recommend selling graded cards here. They offered me far below market value -- literally about half of what I ended up getting elsewhere.
