Opened in early 2024 and tucked into a suite in the 2700 State Street complex, The Collector's Vault is the newest serious card shop in Bismarck and, by the admission of its own customers, one most of the city has not discovered yet. That works in a collector's favor — the singles have not been picked over, and the owner is unusually willing to talk price.

Pokemon is the specialty. The singles inventory runs wide rather than thin, covering set staples and chase cards rather than only the handful of names that move fastest, and sealed product sits alongside it in stocked cases. One Piece has a real presence too, which is rare this far from a major market. Around the edges the shop leans collectible more broadly: Funko Pops, diecast and other display pieces share shelf space with the cardboard, so a visit tends to run longer than planned.

The buy-sell-trade side is the reason to walk in with a binder rather than just a wallet. Cory, who runs the place, takes in Pokemon, One Piece, diecast and Funko, and negotiation is genuinely part of the process rather than a posted take-it-or-leave-it number. Collectors who have sold here consistently describe the offers as reasonable rather than lowball.

Hours are tight, so check the clock before driving over: closed Monday and Sunday, open 11AM to 5:30PM Tuesday through Saturday. That narrow window means the shop is rarely crowded, and a Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon visit usually means one-on-one time at the case. Saturday is the busiest of the six days it is open.

The State Street location puts it in easy reach of north Bismarck and a short drive from the interstate, with parking in the shared lot out front.
