TableTop Gaming might be the only card shop in Central New York where you can sleeve a deck and order a cocktail in the same visit. Founded in 2022 as a worker cooperative — every employee is an owner, and decisions are made by consensus — the downtown Syracuse storefront on South Salina Street runs as much like a clubhouse as a retail shop, with a bar, open play tables, and a calendar of organized play.

The card wall covers Magic: The Gathering first and foremost, backed by Pokemon and other TCGs, plus board games, dice, and sleeves at prices reviewers call genuinely competitive for trading cards in Syracuse. The staff culture that co-ops tend to produce shows up constantly in reviews: one customer tells of an employee named Justin teaching them a game from scratch and handing over a free starter deck; another had the counter staff crack open a box of dragon sleeves just to show the art.

The schedule is built around evening play, not daytime browsing. Doors open at 5PM on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday (closed Tuesday), then run late — until midnight on Friday and Saturday, with Saturday opening at 1PM and Sunday running noon to 7PM. Friday night Magic into the small hours is the store's signature scene.

Downtown location cuts both ways: it's a short walk from Armory Square with on-street parking nearby, and the small space fills fast on event nights. Arrive early for a table, or come midweek if you just want unhurried time with the singles boxes. As one reviewer put it, with how friendly the staff and customer base are, it's hard to call the place anything but wonderful.
