Portland Sports Card Co.

One of the oldest sports collectibles businesses in America, founded in 1975. Specialists in vintage cards from the 1910s through 1970s, graded cards, and estate collection services. By appointment.

Portland Sports Card Co. is one of the oldest sports collectibles businesses in the entire country, founded in 1975 by Bill Wesslund. With over 50 years serving collectors through their storefront (1980-1999), card shows, live auctions, mail order, and now primarily through eBay, the company is a living piece of Pacific Northwest sports card history. They specialize in vintage cards from the pre-war era through the 1970s — Topps, Bowman, Fleer, Goudey, Post Cereal, and regional/police/college issue sets that most shops don't even know exist. Graded sports cards, minor league team sets, and unique regional issues are their bread and butter. Portland Sports Card Co. also handles estate and trust collection liquidations, making them the go-to for families managing inherited collections. While the NE Hancock St office operates by appointment only (call or email ahead due to frequent travel), their eBay store provides access to their inventory nationwide. For vintage collectors, this is Portland's deepest well of pre-1980s cardboard.
