Bowman Chrome HTA Choice Box: One Pack, Three Autographs, Prices by Year

2 sealed products

The HTA Choice box is Bowman Chrome's hobby-shop-only "hit box": a single thick pack sold in a small box, with three Chrome autographs guaranteed and a set of parallels that only exist in Choice. It replaced the old Bowman Chrome jumbo box as the format breakers open on camera, and in 2025 Topps folded much of the idea into the Breaker's Delight box. If you are comparing a $300-plus Choice box against a $350-$550 hobby box with two autographs, this page lays out the configuration, the exclusive parallels and what each year is trading for.

Box formats for Bowman Chrome HTA Choice Box

HTA Choice Box (2023-2024 configuration)

The 2023 and 2024 Choice boxes are the leanest format Bowman has produced: one pack of 3 cards, all three of them autographs. There are no base cards. The 2023 box released September 13, 2023 at $329.99 presale and $365.99 on release day; the 2024 box released September 11, 2024 at a similar price and now sits at $290-$340 sealed, with 2023 boxes at $200-$260. Every card in the pack is an autograph, so a Choice box is effectively three autograph pulls with Choice-exclusive parallels on top.

HTA Choice Box (2019-2021 configuration)

The earlier Choice boxes were closer to a jumbo pack: one pack of roughly 8 to 12 cards including base, Refractors and three autographs. The 2020 box, from the Jasson Dominguez and Julio Rodriguez year, is the most valuable of the run at $250-$350 sealed. 2021 Choice boxes (Marcelo Mayer, Wander Franco) trade at $150-$220. There was no Choice box in 2022; Topps issued a Bowman Chrome Lite box that year instead, covered on the Bowman Chrome Lite page.

2025 and Breaker's Delight

For 2025 Bowman Chrome, Topps restructured the product: the hobby box became 6 packs of 10 cards with two autographs at $349.99, and a Breaker's Delight box with three autographs took the role Choice had played. Some listings for 2025 still use the HTA Choice name at a $399.99 price point, and the distinction between a 2025 Choice and a 2025 Breaker's Delight is blurry in the market; verify the pack count and autograph guarantee on the box before paying a premium. The 2026 Bowman Chrome release, preordering from August 10 and shipping in early September, lists hobby and a one-pack Breaker box with three autographs, with no separate Choice SKU announced.

HTA Choice Case

Choice ships 12 boxes to a case. Cases trade near 12 times the box price and are the unit breakers buy; 2024 Choice cases list around $3,600-$3,800 at distributors in August 2026.

The 2019 and 2020 boxes carry the strongest autograph checklists and have appreciated because Choice was a small allocation in those years. The 2024 box is the current buy among recent years because the Holliday, Anthony and Jenkins autographs are in the Choice checklist and the box has already dropped below launch. The 2025 hobby-box price jump made the three-autograph box look relatively cheap, which is why 2025 Breaker's Delight boxes sold through quickly.

Chase cards, parallels and hit rates

The point of Choice is the exclusive parallel set. In 2023 that meant the Choice Mojo Refractor /150, Green Lava Refractor /99, Orange Wave Refractor /25 and Red Wave Refractor /5, applied to both base autographs and the autograph checklist; earlier years used Lava and Wave finishes as well. Because the 2023-2024 boxes are three autographs and nothing else, every card is a hit and the question is which prospect signs it and whether it carries a numbered Choice parallel. Superfractor autographs and Red /5 autographs are case-level pulls. Topps has printed odds on Choice wrappers in some years; the market widely repeats numbers that do not appear on the wrapper, so do not rely on a listing's quoted odds.

Is Bowman Chrome HTA Choice Box worth buying sealed?

For openers, Choice is a clean bet: three autographs for less than the price of a hobby box, with a parallel set that adds value to the good pulls. The trade-off is zero base cards and no Refractor rainbow of the non-autographed prospects, so it does nothing for set builders. For sealed holders, Choice has been a mixed format: 2019-2020 boxes appreciated well, 2021 and 2023 boxes have roughly tracked the hobby box, and 2024 is still below launch. The concentration risk is real. Three autographs from a weak signer list can be worth far less than the box, whereas a hobby box at least yields tradeable Refractors.

How to spot fakes and resealed boxes

A Choice box is a small box holding one pack, so a resealer only needs to open one thing. Factory boxes have a clear shrink with a Topps seal; the pack inside is foil and should be sealed on all sides without a slit. Weighing is pointless for 2023-2024 boxes because every card is an autograph, but for 2019-2021 boxes a light pack is a warning sign. Watch for listings that sell the "pack" without the outer box, boxes with re-glued flaps, and 2025 listings that mix up Choice and Breaker's Delight. Buy from shops and dealers who can show the outer seal.

Where to buy Bowman Chrome HTA Choice Box sealed

Choice was designed for hobby shops, so start with the card shop directory; many shops still have 2023-2024 Choice cases and sell single boxes below eBay. Card shows are the source for 2019-2021 boxes. On eBay, use:

Frequently asked questions

What is in a Bowman Chrome HTA Choice box?

The 2023 and 2024 Choice boxes contain one pack of 3 cards, all three of which are Bowman Chrome autographs, with Choice-exclusive parallels. Earlier Choice boxes held one larger pack with three autographs plus base and Refractors.

How much is a Bowman Chrome HTA Choice box?

As of August 2026, sealed 2024 Choice boxes sell for $290-$340 and 2023 boxes for $200-$260, while the 2020 box trades at $250-$350.

What is the difference between HTA Choice and a Bowman Chrome hobby box?

A hobby box has multiple packs with base cards, Refractors and two autographs. A Choice box is a single pack with three autographs and exclusive Choice parallels but no base cards.

Is HTA Choice still made?

Bowman Chrome used the Choice format from 2019 through 2024 (skipping 2022). From 2025 the three-autograph role largely moved to the Breaker's Delight box, and 2026 lists a hobby box and a Breaker box rather than a Choice SKU.

What are the HTA Choice exclusive parallels?

Recent years used Choice Mojo Refractors /150, Green Lava /99, Orange Wave /25 and Red Wave /5, alongside the regular Refractor rainbow and Superfractor 1/1.

Is Bowman Chrome HTA Choice licensed by MLB?

Yes. Bowman Chrome is a Topps product with full MLB and MLBPA licensing.
