Hobby (Collector) Box
The Fire hobby box, which Topps labeled a Collector Box, held 20 packs of 6 cards with two autographs guaranteed. It was sold on topps.com and, unusually, through Target as well, at an $84.99 MSRP for the 2022 edition released August 31, 2022. Demand for the Witt and Rodriguez Fire autographs pushed 2022 boxes to $400-$750 within months of release, and while that spike has cooled, 2022 boxes still trade at $220-$400 sealed in August 2026. The 2021 box ($85 MSRP, Franco and Kelenic autographs) runs $200-$350 and the 2020 box (first two-autograph hobby year, Robert and Bichette) $220-$380. A hobby case was 8 boxes in the last two years.
Blaster Box
The blaster was the original Fire format and the Target exclusive: 7 packs of 6 cards plus a bonus pack of 4 Gold Minted parallels, at a $24.99 MSRP. Gold Minted parallels exist only in blasters, which is why sealed Fire blasters trade above nearly every other Topps blaster of the same year. The 2022 blaster sells for $60-$100, 2021 for $70-$120, 2020 for $80-$140 and 2019 for $60-$110; the 2018 blaster with Ohtani and Acuna rookies runs $120-$220.
Rack Pack
Fire also shipped in rack (hanger) packs at Target in 2020-2022 with their own exclusive parallel color. They are a rip format that trades at $15-$30 sealed and are rarely worth chasing over the blaster.

The 2018 blaster is the top of the line because it was retail-only, cheap at the time and holds Ohtani, Acuna and Soto rookies with Gold Minted parallels. The 2022 hobby box is the modern chase: two on-card-style sticker autographs from a checklist headlined by Witt and Rodriguez, a rookie class that has held up, and the knowledge that no 2023 box followed. The 2020 box is undervalued relative to its rookie class and its status as the first two-auto edition. Fire prices moved sharply upward in 2023 once it was clear the line was gone and have been mostly flat since, with the 2022 hobby box giving back part of its launch spike.
Chase cards, parallels and hit rates
Fire base cards come in a color ladder of Flame (retail one per pack), Orange, Green, Purple, Magenta numbered to 25, Onyx numbered low and the Inferno 1/1, with Gold Minted sitting outside the ladder as a blaster-only foil parallel and Blue Chip and Cactus variants in some years. Inserts carried the brand's attitude: En Fuego, Fired Up, Flamethrowers, Flippin' Out, Hot Starts, Smoke and Mirrors and To the Moon, most with their own numbered parallels. Autographs were sticker autos on the base design with numbered Orange, Purple, Magenta, Onyx and Inferno parallels and a Dual Autograph subset. Hobby boxes delivered exactly two autographs, so hit rate discussion is really about who signs: the 2022 checklist was rookie-heavy with Witt, Rodriguez, Franco and Torkelson at the top, and box value swings on those names. Numbered parallels fell a few per hobby box; Onyx and Inferno were case-level.
Is Topps Fire worth buying sealed?
Fire is a discontinued, small-print-run, two-autograph hobby product with retail-exclusive parallels and an art style that has a real following, which is a good combination for sealed holding. It is not a good rip at current prices: $220-$400 for a 2022 hobby box buys two sticker autographs that, outside the top five names, sell for $10-$40 each. Blasters are the more efficient play because Gold Minted parallels of star rookies sell well and the entry price is $60-$140. If you want exposure to Fire, buy 2020 or 2022 hobby boxes on dips and 2018-2020 blasters when they surface below $100. Do not assume the 2023-era price spike will repeat; the market has already priced in discontinuation.
How to spot fakes and resealed boxes
Fire blasters were a Target-aisle product and were searched relentlessly for the thicker Gold Minted bonus pack and any autograph pack, so a blaster that is missing its bonus pack or has loose wrap is almost certainly opened. The factory wrap should be tight with one machine seam on the bottom and the box art should match the year (the 2022 blaster art differs from 2021). Hobby collector boxes shipped in Topps shrink with a lid seal; verify that the shrink has the Topps logo repeat and that both autograph packs are still in the tray (20 packs sitting flush). Because 2022 hobby boxes jumped to several hundred dollars quickly, resealed 2022 boxes are a known problem, so buy from sellers with sealed-box feedback and ask for photos of the seal and seams.
