Hobby Box
The 2025 box is 6 packs of 1 card: four autographs, one "case hit" autograph (an autograph relic, acetate autograph or color-ink autograph) and one base card numbered to 50 or less. Every autograph is on-card and numbered to 199 or less. The 2025 box cleared distributors at roughly $1,500 and, as of August 2026, sells for $1,500-$1,800 sealed. The 2026 edition is on the calendar for September 26, 2026 with the configuration not yet confirmed; dealer presale listings were in the $1,400-$1,600 range. Older Five Star boxes (2017-2021) had two autographs in a single pack and sell for far less, so confirm the year and configuration before comparing prices.

The 2024 box is the one with the strongest resale, since a Skenes or Yamamoto Five Star Signature on its own covers the box and there are five chances at one. The 2025 box is priced above 2024 because of Sasaki and the return of Skenes, but it has not yet appreciated. Older years get cheaper quickly because the 2021-2023 configurations had fewer autographs or a thinner veteran checklist, which is why a 2022 box with Rodriguez and Witt still sells for under $1,000.
Chase cards, parallels and hit rates
The core set is Five Star Signatures, on-card autographs of roughly 130 players with Blue, Purple, Green, Gold, Orange, Red and one-of-one Five Star parallels. Golden Graphs use gold ink on a black card and are the visually distinct chase. Dual and Triple Signatures pair teammates or legends, Autographed Jumbo Patches and Cap Patch Rookie Autographs carry relics, and the acetate and color-ink autographs make up the case-hit slot in every 2025 box. There are no unsigned relics and no inserts, so the box is five signatures and a base card.
Hit rates are the guarantee: five autographs per box, one of them from the premium relic or acetate tier. Dual and triple autos and Golden Graphs of the top names fall at roughly one per case, and the one-of-ones are rarer than that.
Is Topps Five Star worth buying sealed?
The math on a $1,600 box is five autos that need to average $320 apiece to break even. An average 2025 box returns two or three autos of role players and young veterans worth $30-$80 each, one rookie auto that might be $100-$300, and a relic or acetate auto in a similar range, so most boxes return $400-$800. The box price is supported by the Skenes, Sasaki, Ohtani and Judge signatures and by the low print runs. As a sealed hold, 2024 has been the winner and 2021-2023 boxes have gone the other way, so the honest advice is to buy the year whose rookie class you believe in, after the launch premium fades, and to treat a case as a break product rather than a store of value.
How to spot fakes and resealed boxes
Five Star ships in a heavy black box with clear shrink and a Topps seal, holding six single-card packs in individual foil. Because each pack is one thick card, the resealing risk is a rebuilt box: someone opens six packs, keeps the best autograph, and re-wraps the box with a substitute pack. Look for shrink with more than one seam, seal stickers that do not match the year's printed design, and packs that are not uniformly flat when the seller shows the interior. A "sealed" 2024 box at hundreds below market is the red flag. Buy from a shop or a dealer who can show the case it came from.
