Magic: The Gathering Time Spiral Remastered: Booster Box Prices

Mar 2021TSRfrom $45.002 sealed products

Time Spiral Remastered is the odd one out among modern reprint sets: one booster type, no Collector Boosters, no Set Boosters, no box toppers and no serialized cards. What it has instead is a timeshifted card in the old pre-Modern frame in every single pack, drawn from a 121-card sheet, and that one design decision is why the set still sells. Here is the configuration, the chase cards and what a TSR booster box costs in September 2026.

Sealed products for Time Spiral Remastered

Draft Booster Box

Thirty-six Draft Boosters. Each pack is a 16-card booster: one marketing card plus 15 playable cards, of which one is always a timeshifted card in the pre-Modern frame with a purple expansion symbol. The rest of the pack is a normal Masters-style spread of one rare or mythic, three uncommons and the remainder commons, with a traditional foil appearing in place of a common in a minority of packs. Boxes released at roughly $115 to $140 at street prices, which was cheap for a reprint set, and they now sell for $290 to $400 with a market price near $339 and recent sales clustering in the $290 to $400 band.

Draft Booster Pack

Single packs run $9 to $14. Because every pack contains a guaranteed old-border card, TSR is one of the better single-pack experiences in Magic even when the expected value is poor. It is a reasonable thing to hand someone who wants to open one pack and see something interesting.

Draft Pack

Wizards also sold a smaller three-pack draft configuration through some retail channels. These appear occasionally at $30 to $45 and offer no content advantage over loose packs.

Booster Case

A TSR case is six booster boxes. Cases have become genuinely hard to find because the set was printed on a short window and much of it was opened for the timeshifted cards. A sealed case trades at a premium over six times box price.

Note that TSR shipped no Collector Boosters, no Set Boosters, no bundle and no box toppers. Any listing offering a "Time Spiral Remastered Collector Booster" is describing something that does not exist.

Chase cards and Booster Fun treatments

The timeshifted sheet is the treatment. All 121 cards are modern Magic cards printed in the original pre-Modern frame with a purple set symbol, a look that had not been used since the 2006 Time Spiral block, and the sheet contains no original timeshifted cards and no planeswalkers. In practice the value spread across the sheet is enormous, and the foil timeshifted versions are the genuinely scarce cards from this product.

On the value side, the timeshifted Ancestral Vision, Chalice of the Void, Damnation, Sneak Attack, Grave Titan, Gemstone Mine and Lotus Bloom carry the top of the set, with the foil versions of each well clear of their non-foil counterparts. The main set is deep in playable reprints - Ranger of Eos, Dread Return, Thoughtseize-adjacent staples from the block - but shallow in genuinely expensive cards, which is why a box's outcome depends heavily on the timeshifted slot rather than the rare slot.

Is Time Spiral Remastered worth buying sealed?

TSR has quietly been one of the better sealed holds of the last five years, and for an unusual reason: it was cheap at release. A box that cost $130 now sells for around $339, which is a bigger multiple than Ultimate Masters or Modern Horizons 2 managed. The set was printed in a short window, it has never been reprinted in its original form, and the old-border treatment cannot be replicated without another remaster.

Where the honesty is required: expected value on a box sits meaningfully below $339. The set's singles are mostly inexpensive, so unless a box produces a strong foil timeshifted card it loses against buying the same cards individually - which is true of nearly all Magic sealed and is especially true here. TSR is also a relatively thin market; one sale a week at pricecharting means wide spreads and slow liquidity, so a box you want to sell may take time or a discount to move. Buy it because the old-border sheet is a genuinely fun thing to open, or as a small hold in a product that cannot be reprinted as-is. Do not treat it as a liquid asset.

How to spot fakes, resealed and mapped boxes

TSR packs are unusual in that they all contain one guaranteed valuable-ish slot, which makes weighing and mapping worth a scammer's time despite the low box price. Loose packs bought in quantity from unfamiliar sellers should be assumed to have been searched, particularly if a seller has a lot of them and the price is below market.

For boxes, the checks are the standard ones. Factory shrink should be tight with one clean seam and no adhesive residue near the flaps, the packs should not shift audibly when the box is tilted, and the box edges should show no crushing or lifted board from being pried. Because TSR boxes are worth less than most sets on this list, casual resealing is less common, but the low price also means sellers scrutinise them less. Counterfeit Magic booster boxes exist for expensive sets; check the print sharpness of the box art and the set symbol. Buying from a sealed case or a shop you can identify is the most reliable route.

Where to buy Time Spiral Remastered sealed

Local shops sometimes still hold TSR at 2021 pricing because the box was never expensive enough to get flagged, which makes the card shop directory the first place to look. Card shows are good for loose packs. Online, these searches return the cleanest results:
