Sealed products for Shining Legends
Elite Trainer Box
The Shining Legends ETB is the flagship product and the closest thing the set has to a booster box. It includes ten booster packs, a Ho-Oh promo, sleeves, dice, markers and a storage box, and it retailed for $49.99. Sealed ETBs now sell for $950-$1,300, with recent eBay sales clustering around $1,050-$1,250. Per pack that is over $100, which is why almost nobody opens these anymore.
Super Premium Collection
The Super Premium Collection is built around Ho-Oh-GX, with a foil promo, an oversized card, a figure, a playmat-style insert and ten booster packs. It originally retailed for $79.99. Sealed examples change hands at $1,300-$1,700 in mid-2026, and a small number of listings above $2,000 reflect the scarcity of clean, undented boxes rather than a general price level. Its large size makes shipping damage common, so inspect corners before buying.
Pin Collections
Four Pin Collections were released: Pikachu, Mewtwo, Zoroark and Marshadow. Each contains three booster packs, a foil promo of the featured Pokemon and a collector's pin, and retailed at $19.99. In August 2026 the Pikachu and Mewtwo boxes sell for $380-$460, with Zoroark and Marshadow slightly behind at $300-$380. These are the most affordable way to own a sealed piece of the set and are the most frequently traded.
Special Collections
The Raichu-GX Special Collection and the Zoroark-GX Special Collection each pack five booster packs, a GX promo card and an oversized version of it. Both retailed for $29.99 and now sell for $420-$520 sealed. A later Shiny Darkrai-GX box that also used Shining Legends packs lands in a similar $340-$420 range.
Collector Chest and Mini Packs
The Shining Legends Collector Chest is a lunch-box style tin with five booster packs, three foil promos, a mini binder, a notepad and stickers, and it is the product most people mean when they refer to Shining Legends tins. Sealed chests are hard to find, typically $450-$600. Three-card Mini Packs sold through dollar stores still turn up at $10-$20 and are a curiosity rather than a real investment.
Chase cards and pull rates
Mewtwo-GX Hyper Rare (78/73) is the top card and one of the more valuable Sun & Moon secret rares, trading at $550-$750 raw and several thousand dollars in PSA 10. Shining Mew (40/73) is the emotional centerpiece of the set at $120-$170 raw, followed by Shining Rayquaza (56/73) at $90-$130 and Shining Jirachi (42/73) around $25-$40. Zoroark-GX in both regular (53/73) and secret (77/73) versions is a competitive-era favorite that still commands $30-$120 depending on version. The cosmos-holo Pikachu (28/73) is cheap raw but sells for large sums in PSA 10 because of how easily it scratches.
Each pack contains two guaranteed foil cards, and the six Shining Pokemon are shared across the rare slot with the GX cards. Community estimates put a Shining Pokemon at roughly one per six to ten packs and a GX at roughly one per four to six packs, so an ETB has a decent chance at one of each but no guarantee of the specific card you want.
Is Shining Legends worth buying sealed?
Shining Legends is a scarcity play, not a value play. At $100-plus per pack in ETB form, opening is almost always a losing proposition. What supports the price is that the set had one short production window, no booster box, no reprint, and a checklist collectors still want to complete. Prices have climbed steadily since 2020 with only mild pullbacks. The risk is concentration: if demand for Sun & Moon sealed cools, thin-volume products like this move quickly. Pin Collections offer the same exposure at a lower ticket size and are easier to resell.
How to spot fakes and resealed products
Because a single ETB is worth four figures, resealed Shining Legends products are a real problem. Genuine ETBs and collection boxes have a snug clear shrink with a single straight seam and small vent holes; a rippled wrap, doubled seams or cloudy plastic indicate a rewrap. Pin Collections were sealed in a thin cardboard sleeve, so check that the sleeve's glue tabs are intact and undisturbed. Every genuine Shining Legends pack contains a Pokemon TCG Online code card, and pack crimps should be sharp and uniform with the Sun & Moon foil texture. Weigh packs if you can: opened and reassembled packs are often light. Buy from shops or eBay sellers with a long sealed-product history, and be very cautious of "opened box, sealed packs" listings for this set.
