Warhammer terrain, MTG singles and a big back game room on West 1st — the Casper shop that runs free open D&D and board game nights all week.

Game Crossing moved a few doors down West 1st Street toward Poplar a couple of years back, and the new space is the better half of the trade: brighter, cleaner, and with a game room deep enough to set up Warhammer terrain and leave it standing. Chris has run the shop for years and the current layout reflects what actually sells in Casper — miniatures and paints along one side, trading card singles and sealed product near the counter, RPG hardcovers and board games filling the middle.

The war gaming community is the real draw. The back room holds built terrain boards rather than bare folding tables, which is rare in a city this size and the reason 40k players from as far as Douglas and Glenrock make the drive. Magic: The Gathering singles are stocked and priced for walk-in play rather than speculation, and the shop keeps enough sleeves, deck boxes and paint ranges that you are unlikely to leave for supplies.

Community programming is free and frequent: open Dungeons & Dragons sessions for people without a group, board game nights where the demo copies come off the shelf, and drop-in war gaming. If you are new to trading cards Casper has few softer landings — the staff are known for asking what you are trying to do before recommending a product, which is the difference between a starter deck that gets played and one that sits in a closet.

Hours run eleven to seven Monday through Saturday with a shorter noon-to-five Sunday, so weekend afternoons are the reliable window and the only day the doors close early is Sunday. Parking is street-level on 1st with the downtown lots a short walk away. Bring a project to paint or a deck to test; the tables are open and nobody is going to rush you out of one.
