Pokemon has dated the end of an era. Mega Evolution: Delta Reign arrives November 6, 2026 as the final main expansion of the Mega Evolution block, headlined by Mega Rayquaza ex. If you have been collecting the Mega era, this is the set that closes it, and that changes how you should be thinking about the twelve months of product behind it.

What Delta Reign Is

The set takes its name and its thematic cue from the Delta Episode, the postgame storyline from Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire that put Rayquaza at the center of the plot. Building the block's finale around Mega Rayquaza is the obvious call and also the correct one. Rayquaza has been the single most reliably collected Pokemon in the game's chase-card history, and a Mega Rayquaza ex closing out the Mega Evolution era is about as clean a bookend as the design team could have engineered.

Delta Reign also lands in Pokemon TCG Pocket, continuing the pattern of paper and digital releases sharing a set identity.

Why "Final Set of the Block" Is the Part That Matters

Set blocks in the Pokemon TCG have a consistent secondary-market shape, and it is worth understanding before November:

The last set of a block is almost always the most heavily printed, because it launches into peak block awareness. The first sets of a block are almost always the scarcest, because they launched before anyone knew the block would matter.

What that means practically: if you have been thinking about filling gaps in earlier Mega Evolution sets, the window to do that cheaply is now, before the block closes. Once a block ends, collectors start assembling it as a complete unit, and the early sets, which have the smallest print runs, are the ones that move first.

Delta Reign itself will very likely be available and reasonably priced well into 2027. The sets it is closing out will not necessarily be.

November 6 puts Delta Reign in a specific and slightly awkward spot:

• Seven weeks after 30th Celebration (September 16), which is the largest Pokemon release of the year and the first Pokemon TCG set to launch worldwide on a single day
• Directly into the holiday buying season, which means mass-retail allocation and heavy sealed demand from outside the hobby

Those two facts pull in opposite directions. A holiday release gets printed heavily to meet retail demand, which suppresses long-term sealed scarcity. But a holiday release also gets bought heavily by people who open everything, which supports singles.

The practical read for most collectors: buy Delta Reign singles, not Delta Reign cases. The chase cards will be gettable, and holding sealed product from a heavily printed holiday set has historically been one of the slower ways to make money in this hobby.

What To Do Between Now and November

• Audit your Mega block gaps this month. Pull up your want list for the earlier sets in the block and price them now, not in December.
• Do not skip 30th Celebration to save for November. The 30th anniversary set is a one-time event with an all-foil card lineup and a new Futuristic Rare rarity. Delta Reign is a strong set. It is not a once-in-thirty-years set.
• Watch for preorder dates at your local shop. Local shops typically open Pokemon preorders six to eight weeks ahead, which puts Delta Reign preorders in mid-to-late September. Shop allocations on a holiday release are tighter than the print run suggests.
• Expect Mega Rayquaza ex to be overpriced on release day. Every block-closing headliner is. The 30-day mark is the historical price floor for a set's marquee chase card.

The Mega Evolution era gets a proper ending with a Legendary that deserves one. Just remember that the era ending is more interesting to your collection than the set that ends it.
