Game Corner on Oakland Road has carved out a play-first niche in north San Jose. The Berryessa-adjacent location puts it near a long list of office complexes, and the shop leans into that with late-evening hours — open until 10 or 11 PM every day except Monday — and a calendar that lines up well with after-work tournament play.

The TCG selection is curated rather than exhaustive: Pokemon, Magic: The Gathering, and Flesh & Blood are the three games this San Jose card shop builds its identity around. Sealed product for all three lines stays in real stock, singles are organized in a flip case behind the counter, and the staff actively keep the binder updated rather than letting it go stale.

Where Game Corner differentiates is the play space. A row of long tables fills most of the back half of the shop, and on tournament nights they get used hard — weekly Magic Commander and Modern events, Pokemon League sessions for kids and adults, and Flesh & Blood Armory events on rotation. Prize support tracks set release schedules, and the regulars are welcoming to drop-ins.
