🎪 About This Event

Albuquerque Comic Con takes over Expo New Mexico from Friday, January 15 through Sunday, January 17, 2027 for its annual three-day run, and it is the biggest single gathering of collectors, dealers, and pop-culture fans New Mexico sees all year. The show's own tagline says it plainly — it's January, it's Albuquerque Comic Con. While the marquee draw is the celebrity guest list, the dealer hall is a serious destination for card collectors in its own right, and it is the one weekend where trading card vendors, comic dealers, toy sellers, and artists all share the same floor.

The 2027 guest roster already announced includes Tom Welling, Michael Ironside, Pom Klementieff, Julie Benz, Dina Meyer, Casper Van Dien, Jake Busey, Seth Gilliam, Daniel Logan, and Brett Wagner, alongside a deep voice-acting contingent — Cristina Vee, Robbie Daymond, Roger Craig Smith, Adam McArthur, Christine Marie Cabanos, Debi Derryberry, and Lauren Landa — plus comics legend John Romita Jr. among the side-event programming. For collectors, the vendor floor is the reason to come: sports card dealers with MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, and UFC inventory across vintage and modern, trading card game tables carrying Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Disney Lorcana, and Dragon Ball Z singles and sealed, graded slabs in locked cases, back-issue comic long boxes, Funko Pops, statues, anime imports, original art, and artist-alley prints. Photo ops and autograph sessions run all weekend on a published schedule.

Published hours are Friday, January 15 from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday, January 16 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and Sunday, January 17 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, all Mountain Time. Saturday is by far the longest and busiest day; Friday afternoon is the quietest window on the floor and the best time to actually talk to dealers. Tickets are sold through the convention's registration partner and typically include single-day, weekend, and upgraded tiers, with photo ops and autographs priced separately per guest. Ticket tiers and pricing were not itemized on the convention site when this listing was written — check albuquerquecomiccon.com/tickets before you plan, and buy photo ops in advance because popular guests sell out.

Expo New Mexico is at 300 San Pedro Drive NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108, reached from Interstate 40 via the San Mateo or Louisiana exits. Fairgrounds parking is on site and paid at the gate. The convention publishes a host hotel with a room block, which is worth using if you are driving in from Santa Fe, Farmington, Las Cruces, Gallup, or over the state line.

This is a families-and-first-timers show as much as a hard-core collector one — cosplay is everywhere, kids are welcome, and nobody will look sideways at you for asking a dealer what something is. Practical advice: buy tickets and photo ops ahead of time, arrive Friday or at Saturday open if you want first pick of dealer inventory, carry cash since some smaller vendors are cash-preferred, bring a hard case or portfolio for anything you buy, and wear shoes you can stand in for eight hours. Follow @abqcomcon on Instagram or the convention's Facebook page for guest updates and schedule releases.
