Hours are 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, a six-hour single-day Saturday window. The 11:00 AM open is later than most card shows, which is a genuine convenience — you are not setting an alarm to make the door.
Admission is FREE. Parking is FREE. There is no ticket, no VIP tier, and no early-entry fee. That is the entire pitch and it works: a collector can drop in for forty minutes on a Saturday afternoon, flip through some binders, buy nothing, and not feel like they wasted money. It also makes this the single best show in Tucson to bring a kid to for their first time.
The Kino Event Center is at 2805 East Ajo Way, inside the Kino Sports Complex south of downtown Tucson. There is abundant free surface parking, the hall is climate controlled, and access from I-10 and I-19 is straightforward. The complex is a familiar destination for most Tucson residents, so nobody gets lost finding it.
October's edition falls on the same Saturday as TCAT Expo XII on North Stone Avenue. The two are about fifteen minutes apart and run complementary hours — TCAT opens at 9:00 AM and closes at 3:00 PM, Hobby Hangout runs 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM — so a determined collector can do both in one day. Expect the Tucson hobby crowd to be out in force that Saturday.
This show suits everyone: families, first-timers, casual browsers, budget collectors, and dealers scouting the local market. Serious high-end buyers will find the ceiling lower than at a flagship 520 show, but monthly cadence means fresh inventory every time.
Tips: arrive within the first hour for best selection, bring cash, and bring penny sleeves and top loaders for raw purchases. Talk to vendors about what they are hunting — the recurring format means the same faces return monthly and relationships pay off.
