Santa's Shake and Bake Workshop closes the Johnson County Card Show year with a two-day holiday edition at the Homefield Olathe Training Center on Saturday and Sunday, December 19 and 20, 2026. This is the series' Christmas show, staged the weekend before the holiday, and the Shake and Bake Sports Cards team dresses the room up for it. Expect a festive floor, holiday giveaways, and a dealer roster that comes specifically prepared for gift buyers.
Inventory skews toward things people actually want to unwrap. Sealed product is unusually deep — Pokemon booster boxes and elite trainer boxes, Magic: The Gathering set and collector boosters, sports wax across MLB, NFL and NBA, and blaster and hanger product priced for stocking stuffers. Graded slabs from PSA, BGS and SGC feature rookie cards and recognizable stars that present well as gifts. The regular collector inventory is all still here too: raw vintage from the 1960s through the 1980s, Chiefs season material with rookies and autographs, Royals and Cardinals baseball, NBA prizm and optic, NHL, college and soccer. Trading card game tables cover Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Lorcana and Dragon Ball Z alongside Pokemon and Magic. Comics, Funko Pops, signed memorabilia and bobbleheads round out the floor.
Saturday, December 19 runs 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, December 20 runs 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday draws the bigger crowd. Sunday afternoon — the last few hours of the show's calendar year — is when dealers are most willing to move on price rather than store inventory over the holidays.
Admission is free both days. No tickets, no VIP tier, no advance registration, and no charge for children with an adult. Walk in during open hours.
Homefield Olathe Training Center is an athletic facility in Olathe, Kansas, with free parking in a large surface lot at the door. It is single-level with wide aisles and bright overhead lighting, and it handles strollers, wheelchairs and holiday crowds without feeling cramped. Restaurants along Olathe's 119th Street corridor are a short drive.
This is the most family-friendly date on the Johnson County calendar. The holiday atmosphere, the free admission and the giveaways make it a genuinely good outing with kids, and the dollar and dime boxes give young collectors something to dig through. It is also a practical shopping trip — comparing sealed product across a room of competing dealers will nearly always beat retail pricing.
A few tips: come Saturday morning for selection or Sunday afternoon for price. Bring cash in mixed denominations; the discount is real and dealers lean on it hardest at the end of the year.
