The NYRR Team For Kids Charity Card Show & Trade Night debuts at the New Hyde Park Elks Lodge #2107 on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Organized by Lakeville Cards, this is a Friday night trade event with a twist: every dollar of admission and every table fee goes directly to New York Road Runners Team For Kids, the charity that funds free youth running programs across the city. The organizers intend it to become a monthly tradition, and this inaugural night is the launch.
The format is a trade night first and a dealer show second. Expect vendor tables with sports cards across MLB, NBA, NFL, and NHL, plus Pokemon and other trading card games, graded slabs, and sealed product, but the real draw is the room full of collectors with binders looking to swap. Because it is a charity night and a first edition, the vendor mix will be local: Nassau County shops and collectors rather than big out-of-state dealers. That tends to mean friendlier prices and more willingness to trade.
Hours are 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM in a single evening block. Admission is a 5 dollar donation at the door, and 100 percent of it goes to Team For Kids. Vendor tables are available by calling or texting Jack at 516-916-1157, with table proceeds also donated in full. Snacks and drinks are sold on site, and the lodge setting is family-friendly, so bringing kids on a Friday evening is fine.
The Elks Lodge is at 901 Lakeville Road in New Hyde Park, close to the Northern State Parkway and Lake Success. Parking is free in the lodge lot. The New Hyde Park LIRR station on the Main Line is a short rideshare away, and the N25 bus runs along Lakeville Road. The area around Lakeville Road and Union Turnpike has plenty of dinner options before or after the show.
Who should attend: collectors who want their hobby spending to support a good cause, Nassau County and eastern Queens traders looking for a weeknight event, families with kids, and dealers who want an inexpensive table at a community show with built-in goodwill. First-timers will find a relaxed, welcoming room with no pressure.
Tips: bring your trade binder above all else, because trading is the point of the night, and bring cash for both the door donation and any quick deals. Bring extra cash if you want to support the cause beyond admission. Arrive early if you want a table conversation with the vendors before the room fills. Since this is the first edition, follow Lakeville Cards on social media for the monthly schedule going forward, or contact Jack at 516-916-1157 for vendor and event questions. Because table fees are donated too, the organizers hope to fill the room with local collectors setting up for the first time, which should make for an unusually approachable vendor mix.
