🃏 About This Event

The December Schaumburg Card Show runs Sunday, December 6, 2026 from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Hyatt Regency Schaumburg, with free admission, free parking and more than 100 dealer tables. December changes the character of a card show. Roughly a third of the room on a date like this is shopping for someone else — a graded rookie for a kid, a sealed wax box for a spouse, a team set for a parent who grew up with those players. Dealers stage inventory accordingly, and gift-priced material in the twenty-to-hundred-dollar range gets pushed to the front of the table.

That makes the December date genuinely useful even if you are not a hardcore collector. A slabbed rookie card of a favorite Bear or Cub, presented properly, beats almost anything you will find at a mall for the same money — and unlike a mall, you can ask the person selling it exactly what you are getting and why it costs what it costs.

For collectors buying for themselves, the depth is the same as any month. Over 100 tables of sports cards: baseball, football, basketball and hockey from 1950s vintage through current-year releases, complete and partial sets, 1980s and 1990s wax boxes, star rookies, inserts, numbered parallels and long runs of commons in dime and dollar boxes. Chicago demand shapes it — Cubs, White Sox, Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks material is everywhere — and hockey is at peak seasonal interest in December, so Blackhawks inventory is at its best. Graded slabs from PSA, SGC and BGS fill locked showcases. Dealers also carry autographs, memorabilia across all sports, unopened wax and the full supply range: sleeves, top loaders, one-touches, boxes and binders. Trading card game vendors bring Pokemon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh! and One Piece singles and sealed product, though sports remains the center of gravity.

The 8:00 AM opening is not decorative. Regulars arrive early, dealers trade among themselves before nine, and the best raw vintage moves in the first hour. Admission and parking are both free, with no VIP tier, no advance ticket and no early-entry upcharge.

The Hyatt Regency Schaumburg sits at 1800 E Golf Road, directly across from the Olive Garden at Woodfield Mall and just west of Route 53 — minutes from I-290, I-90 and Route 53, and reachable in fifteen minutes or less from Arlington Heights, Palatine, Hoffman Estates, Elk Grove Village, Roselle and Streamwood. Woodfield Mall being next door is a practical bonus in December if you have other shopping to finish.

Who should come: gift buyers, set builders, vintage collectors and families. First-timers should walk the whole room once before spending. Sellers should note that several regulars buy collections — table information runs through Joe Slusarz.

Bring cash in mixed denominations, sleeves and top loaders, a rigid case for slabs, and a written want list. If you are buying a gift, ask the dealer to sleeve and top-load it properly before you leave the table.
