🃏 About This Event

The Sports Cards & Collectible Show returns to American Legion Post 230 in Martinsville on Sunday, September 27, 2026, and the fall edition is the one Morgan County regulars circle. September is when local collections come out of storage — people clean garages before winter, estate sales pick up, and the dealers who work this room fill their boxes with material that has not passed through the Indianapolis circuit. For anyone whose collecting style is patient digging rather than case shopping, that makes this a high-value Sunday.

Baseball leads the floor, and the vintage depth is the show's signature. Expect monster boxes of 1960s through 1980s Topps, plus Bowman, Fleer, Donruss and Score, along with the regional and food-issue oddballs that rarely surface at bigger shows. Football gets a September lift with Colts material, vintage NFL and Notre Dame product. Basketball is where Martinsville distinguishes itself: this is the heart of Indiana high school basketball country, and the vintage IU, Purdue, Butler and Pacers material that circulates here is genuinely better than what you find in the northern suburbs. Modern product is present but not the focus — Prizm, Optic, Select, Topps Chrome and Bowman in singles and sealed. Trading card game tables cover Pokemon most reliably, with Magic: The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh! appearing regularly. Graded slabs from PSA, SGC, BGS and CGC sit in locked cases. Comics, coins, autographed memorabilia and hobby supplies fill remaining tables, and the discount bins here remain genuinely unpicked.

Hours are 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM Eastern. Admission is free and parking in the legion lot is free. Kids attend free, and the unhurried atmosphere makes this an easy first show for someone new to collecting.

American Legion Post 230 is at 701 East Morgan Street, Martinsville, IN 46151, on State Road 252 just off State Road 37 — about forty minutes from downtown Indianapolis, thirty from Greenwood and thirty from Bloomington. The hall is single-level and air-conditioned with a free, easy lot. Morgan Street has several local restaurants for lunch, and Martinsville has three card and comic shops within a few blocks of the venue, so the trip easily becomes a half-day hobby run rather than a single stop.

This show is for vintage hunters, set builders and bargain diggers above all. If you would rather spend two hours in a commons box than ten minutes at a case, you will do better here than at most metro shows. It is also a strong selling venue — dealers actively buy, and the local base is used to bringing collections in.

Tips: get there at 9:00 AM, since the Indianapolis crowd usually arrives an hour later and the first hour is genuinely quiet. Bring cash and more of it than you plan to spend, because rural shows are where the unexpected vintage lot appears. Carry penny sleeves, top loaders, a carrying box and a want list. Ask dealers what is still in the car or under the table — a lot of material here never gets priced or displayed. Contact Tom at 812-369-0824 or Chuck at 317-902-1559 for table information.
