Empire Cards

Empire Cards is Iowa's premier family-friendly card shop chain, with its Des Moines Hubbell Avenue location serving the east side of the city. From sports cards and Pokémon to Magic: The Gathering and graded cards, Empire Cards offers a massive, welcoming shopping environment with regular tournaments and community events for all ages.

Empire Cards has grown to become one of Iowa's most recognized card shop brands, and the Hubbell Avenue location in Des Moines exemplifies exactly what the chain does best — a massive, welcoming space where card enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels can gather, trade, compete, and connect.

Located at 4330 Hubbell Ave on Des Moines' east side, the shop serves a neighborhood that had long been underserved by the hobby retail market. With a vast floor space, Empire Cards can stock an inventory that rivals much larger metro shops. Sports cards span all major leagues with both sealed products and a deep singles selection. Pokémon collectors will find comprehensive sealed inventory alongside singles and graded cards. Magic: The Gathering players are served with regular singles restocking, sealed products, and a consistent events calendar.

Graded card authentication and submission services are central to Empire's offering. The shop works with major grading companies and hosts regular submission drives, giving local collectors an affordable and convenient way to get their most valuable cards professionally slabbed and protected. The display cases showcase hundreds of graded examples across sports and TCG categories.

Community and events are deeply embedded in Empire Cards' identity. The shop runs regular tournaments across its supported game systems, community events for families, and special promotions and giveaways. Empire Cards also hosts its signature Tournament of Champions events, which draw participants from across the Des Moines metro and beyond.

The Hubbell Avenue location joins a growing network of Empire Cards locations across Iowa, each sharing the same commitment to fair pricing, family-friendly atmosphere, and community-first values. The chain's growth reflects genuine demand from Iowa collectors for high-quality, professionally operated card shops.

Open Monday through Saturday 11 AM to 7 PM with Sunday availability, Empire Cards on Hubbell delivers a premium card shop experience to the east Des Moines community — proving that Iowa's collecting scene is thriving and growing stronger every year.
